3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Old copper pour with a 3 finger, fluffy beige head. Aroma of caramel, a little nutty toffee, a hint of sweet woodiness, toast and a little grassy and planty hops. Flavor is toasty and nutty up front, then some caramel, earthy, sort of spicy wood notes that remind me more of birch beer than maple syrup, grassy, spicy and fruity floral hops, light mineral notes and a bit of tannin-ish bite to the finish. Light to medium body, oily entry, immediately knocked out by an off dry feel that leads up to a dry finish that straddles the line between astringent and pleasantly crisp. A medium strength, blanketing and lively carbonation punctuates the overall dryness. Good stuff overall, I was surprised by the dry, woody, husky grain feel of a beer with Maple and Malt mentioned so many times on the label. Good stuff overall, not great, but I feel like I might warm up to it a bit by the time I am done with the six pack.
Look I’m a huge Anchor Guy I’m from Cali, it was the first craft beer ever and still remains so after almost 200 year Fucking impressive. It’s the Tobasco of beers, if I have to explain that your a moron! But this beer was a miss!

Bottle @home (rating backlog). Pours red/brown, off white head. Nose is toffee, there is some maple there as well, caramel and some biscuit notes. Taste is maple, caramel, slight burnt notes, malty. AssKicker (716) - Strasbourg, FRANCE - APR 13, 2017
DavyK (166) - East Kilbride, SCOTLAND - MAR 12, 2017
Not wild on this. The sweetness of the maple doesn’t overpower, which I was weary of...but I’m not sure it entirely worked either. Cloying by the end. No crispness or bite. Perhaps one to match with food, some braised beef and winter veg or something... beton (715) - Tarnobrzeg, POLAND - FEB 27, 2017

Aroma: Honey, nuts, caramel, and roasted malts. A very faint hoppy landing. smell of leaves, or maybe it’s just the label ;)
Appearance: Amber with some haziness contained within. Ever so off-white head. Nice Lacing.
Taste/ Palate: light, creamy, hits all the right fall notes. crisp, fresh, malty, faint spiciness with a creamy and sticky feel.
Finish: A fall beer that goes down easy, and keeps things interesting at any point in a drinking sesh.

Color ambar, sabor dulce, caramelo, cuerpo medio. alexmate (307) - South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - DEC 21, 2016
Appearance: Amber with a big white head and excellent lacing that went all the way down. Nose: caramel. roasted malt and red fruits. Taste is of caramel, brown sugar, woods, malt and wheat, unfortunately the bitter hoppy aftertaste overpowered what is an interesting ale. Price Paid: £2.30.
