COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We are excited to announce the debut of Anchor Dry-Hopped Steam Beer, a limited release inspired by Anchor Steam Beer, the original California Common. San Franciscos famous Anchor Steam Beer is unique for its brewing process which has evolved over many decades and is like no other in the world. To give this classic beer a radically traditional twist, Brewmaster Scott Ungermann created Anchor Dry-Hopped Steam Beer. Made with its own special recipe, the brew is dry-hopped with a blend of new and traditional hops. The result weds the rich maltiness of Anchor Steam with an alluring fragrant hoppiness of our ales. Anchor Dry-Hopped Steam Product ImageAnchor Dry-Hopped Steam Beer is both a historical nod to our roots and a cutting edge, modern beer, said Brewmaster Scott Ungermann. We took our most popular, classic beer and gave it a contemporary twist by introducing a lighter body and an elevated, dynamic hop profile using new and classic hop varieties. The result is a California Common with a unique hop bitterness balanced by a light malty sweetness. The original Anchor Steam Beer has rich caramel malt flavors balanced by an herbal hop spiciness. Anchor Dry-Hopped Steam Beer, on the other hand, has flavors of light malty sweetness with distinct aromas of citrus and stone fruit, and a lingering, bitter hop finish. Brilliant amber in color with a tight, tan head, Anchor Dry-Hopped Steam Beer is moderately full in body, smooth and velvety.

Hazy orange color with off-white head. Aroma is quite malty with orange jam notes. Taste has also nice orange notes, a bit spicy, solid malt backbone, light earthy hop bitterness on the finish. Medium body, medium to low carbonation, quite smooth feel. Overall its a really well made and tasty ale.

Slightly cloudy amber/orange with a foamy white head. Very bready aroma without much else. Tastes like an amber ale with a slight cooked vegetable hop bitterness. Kind of thin bodied. Leaves a lasting dry vegetal bitterness. Im not sure but this might not be fresh as it didnt have the clean taste of Anchor Steam or a clear hop bitterness youd expect from dry hopping. Ill re-rate when I get another one.

Pour from a 12oz bottle. Slightly cloudy tan brew with small off white head, good lacing. Aroma of caramel malts, green fruit; a little citrus and resin. Taste is moderate malt up front, bready with caramel, slowly emerging green fruit with a slightly resinous finish. Nice balance between the malt and the hops and a good hops profile but not trying to be an IPA. I

Aroma:
Slight/medium aroma of malts, caramel, fruit, bread and hops.

Appearance:
Hazy amber/orange beer with a slight/medium off-white/beige head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel and fruit; ends slightly bitter and dry with bread and hops.

Overall:
This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. Honestly; the dry-hopping is not even that noticeable, but it is only slightly better than its original even though it gets the same rating from me.
