(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 1 Aug 2010) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, hoppy nose with lemon, grain and grassy hops. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of lemon, grapefruit, passion fruit, grain and grassy, citrussy hops in a dry, fresh finish. Medium body, dry, with generous bitterness. Deceptively drinkable and tasty. csbosox (1229) - Prairie Village, Kansas, USA - SEP 6, 2010
12oz bottle, Bells snifter. Herbal and floral hops aroma with the oft described top note of fruity white wine, a touch of lemon and some potent sativa aromas. There is a faint cracker-like malt backbone, but the hops dominate the aroma. Golden in color with a bone white head and excellent clarity. Medium to medium plus carbonation appears in streams of tiny bubbles and props up the head seemingly forever. The taste is fruity (lemons zest, underripe grapes) and minerally (like chablis/loire valley sauvigon blanc wines); with a strongly herbal and white wine finish. The bitterness is moderately strong, but the beer certainly doesn’t feel out of whack. Dry finish. The bitterness is cleansing and although the beer is complex, it is also restrained. Very tasty and very drinkable. A wonderful seasonal beer. Skyview (6055) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - SEP 6, 2010
Sampled from 12-oz bottle shared by JK. Pours a semi-clear golden pale colored brew with an average sized off-white head that slowly disappears to a thin white ring and spotty lacing. Aroma of golden grain malt, grassy hops, lemon zest, and a distinct eucalyptus scent that reminded me of Vicks VapoRub. Taste is medium bodied, piny, with additional taste of sugar beets, golden grain malt, grassy hops, lemon and a touch of spice. Finish is slightly tart with a mild grapefruit and citrus aftertaste without the typical bitterness compared to other hoppy beers. Vir4030 (603) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 5, 2010
Pours a nice golden with a thick white head. Light hoppy aroma. Quite a hoppy flavor. Almost too hoppy, not sure. radagast83 (8072) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - SEP 5, 2010
12oz bottle. The beer pours a gold color, foamy white head. Aroma slightly grassy, grains, touch of hops. Flavor is a light, session beer, touch of bitterness.

Bottle. Poured a light golden amber with a thin fluffy head. Nose is peppery and hoppy. For a pale ale this has quite a bit of body. Definitely a unique and distinct flavor. Very dry and bitter. Crisp flavor. Similar to a German styled beer. bobman006 (339) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 2, 2010
Bottle. Golden with pretty Anchor (TM) head. Aromas of grain, grass, pine, citrus, honey, soft cheese. Flavors of grain, honey, pine, spice, cantaloupe, lime, grapefruit. Very hoppy. Medium body with soapy mouthfeel and lively/moderate tight carbonation. Hops offended me at first sip but I think we are friends now. rocbyter (2124) - Waterbury, Connecticut, USA - SEP 2, 2010
Light floral hop aroma. Cloudy golden color with a large white head. Sweet citrus beginning with a light bitter finish. BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - SEP 1, 2010
Misty gold, nice head and lacing. The nose is spicy and mild with a touch of hops and a snappy malt note. Clean and fresh with a subtle body and mouthfeel. A little mild for me, but good. malrubius (2900) - Springfield, Vermont, USA - SEP 1, 2010
I wish I could write just a one word review: "Meh." Golden with small head and lace. Very mild hoppy honey aroma. Peach apricot sweet fruity tartness with mild lingering fruity fruit peel bitterness. I’m astonished that this is supposed to feature the same hop as the absolutely amazing Alpine Nelson.
