Little, fast gone white head; dark amber colour. Malty nose, coloured malts, hops coming on only in the background, and not C-hops at that. Rosewater aroma. Rosewater in the taste again, bit of restsugars, further rather flowery flavours. Some caramel, restrained. Rather light in density, light oily MF, little alcohol. Pleasing beer, but less hoppy than the first impression of this beer that once opened my eyes to American beers... bfeldmann (1050) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - FEB 17, 2006
"another quility beer by anchor. Wasn’t overhoppy. Poured a golden/orange okay head, laced great. Aroma was of pinehops. Flavor was citrus nad thos pinehops well balanced. Very nice beer." highlandlad (1480) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - FEB 17, 2006
An American classic. This brewer can do little wrong as far as I’m concerned, and this just edges the Steam Beer. This one poured a hazy marmalade colour with dozens of tiny bubble trails. The loose 1.5cm head showed good retention. The delicious fresh Cascade aroma prompts thoughts of gin and bitter lemon, Fruit Gums, passionfruit and Belgian yeast. Quite tropical, with fusels adding to the mix. Like the Steam Beer, this has a nice soft mouthfeel, very moderately carbonated and pretty much perfect IMO. There’s a quick hint of caramel before tangy hops take over. Quite a bitter fruit salad - lemons, mango, maybe even a squeeze of gooseberry. Lovely, long puckering finish. A mostly diminushing small fizzy white head that tops up a clear medium yellow body. No lacing. No particules. Heavy filtration. Aroma is light cookie while hops are heavy pine cascade Also, there are faint notes of raisin and pear . Initial flavor is moderate bitter while development leads to a definite hoppy core. Finish is medium and bitter. medium body... oily texture... Lively carbonation...
A little put off by the poor performance of the Summer beer, I got stuck into this one and must say I can’t believe they are from the same brewery. This was miles ahead.

Tasted from the bottle into a tulip glass. Head began to erupt off the pour; big, thick soufflé of white foam that lasted, lacing thin webs down the glass. The body of beer a cloudy, pastel orange with very fine streams of carbonation. Strong, juicy fruits on the nose; peaches, mangoes and grapefruit, showcasing the classic American hop characteristics. Underlying notes of toasted malt and sour-dough fill the aroma out. Tangy and lightly tart fruits in the mouth. Lightly spicy, with flavours of oranges, strawberries, grapefruit and ripe, juicy peaches. Plenty of U.S. hops floating about especially in the back with a bitter herbal note just short of the swallow. Doughy, vanilla and bready malts offer a little depth before all fruits in the long, quenching and slightly tart swallow. Remained clean and refreshing all the way down and was even juicier warm than cold. I really liked this one. Well rounded, wonderfully balanced between the malt and hops, and easily sessionable. Quite nice. (355mL, 5.9% ABV, BBE 06/07)
Pours a cloudy/hazy amber gold. Light white head that left the ring after dissipating some. Smells of hops is very good. Like a light IPA. Nice bitterness and a clean palate. Very good and I’m glad I can find this when i want it.
This beer has a dark blond body - hue apperance and a coarse white scum collar. I have drunk the beer from the bottle and it had no carbonic acid. The initial flavor taste is very bitter with a light smooked afther tast. BrewKrew (29) - bellevue, Kentucky, USA - FEB 7, 2006
Pours a light golden color with a small thin head that fades quickly. A strong note of grapefruit and floral scents make the cascade hops presence known. Bitter finish that definitely lingers. Quinten (1062) - zaandam, NETHERLANDS - FEB 7, 2006
thin head, lots of hoppy grapefruits bitternes, smell with parts of traditional pilsener.
I think my best u.s. beer ever.
