One of my favorites for years. Thick, lacy head, perfumy,floral/citrus Cascade character, from bittering to flavor to aroma. Fairly pale for style, light maltiness up front, yet contributes to overall rich impression. Great, hoppy ale.

What a great APA. It has it all: Rich creamy texture. Light malt base that carries the resinous/piney/grapefruity Cascade hops hit in perfect balance. This is a really well made beer!

Not bad. Not bad at all. Good palate. Medium body. Very drinkable pale ale.

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2012 From the bottle.

Pours a light golden amber with an limited head. The aroma is all cascade hops - floral, slightly dusty hops with notes of pine; some cracker malt comes through as well. The flavor is very dry, none of the sweetness in many IPAs, just cascade hops with a slightly sour twist, yeasty tones, and enough backup from light cracker malts to keep a good semblance of balance. The finish is pure hops of modest intensity but fine bitterness. The mouthfeel is somewhat watery with abundant, almost stinging, carbonation that I would prefer to see toned down somewhat.

This is a reasonable APA, but not as aromatically hoppy as I remember.

Six years old (2006 bottle in 2012). Yuck. Tons of sediment, off flavors. Drainpour. This was an experiment that didnt work. Not worth aging, at least not for this sort of duration.

Bottle from Cask and Glass, Tonbridge, Kent. Reddish brown ale with beige head. Good tasty fruity malt with extremely fragrant hops that come and kick you in the finish. Nice beer.

Great copper color. Fruity and flowery nose. Unbelievably nice palate for a Pale. Blends the tastes together well with a creamy mouth feel. Nice hops taste but not overpowering. I love Anchor products.

Thin white head, gorgeous rich canary color. Strong citrusy hop aroma and faint cedar. Head like Ivory soap. Palate is awesome and weighty. Slight foamy lacing.

Amber beer with a small white head and a bit of lacing. Aroma is pale malt and hops. Smooth malty flavor with some fruitiness and a strong hoppiness. Apricot and grapefruit. Plenty of malt to carry the intense hoppiness. Smooth and round in flavor. Im not a fan of the style but this is enjoyable. A well crafted offering from Anchor.

Light copper colour with some cloudiness. Aroma is soft: some light malt and hops. Small-average size head with good lacing. Flavour is slightly sweet and moderately bitter: well balanced. Medium body with lively carbonation. Almost has a Belgian-style aroma and flavour.
