UPDATED: FEB 20, 2003 Light amber, always has a decent head. Foresty cascade aroma, lightly toasted biscuits, vague lemon, salmonberries. Moderate bitterness - I wonder how I would have described that in '75, maybe ULTRA HOP JUICE SO BITTER I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO TASTE AGAIN - how the times have changed. Hoppy, fruity, with a light yeast note and light background malts. Though its hop content is not the shocker it once must have been, it succeeds today on its balance, which remains wonderful. Simple and classy, a deserving standard-bearer for the micro movement. rlgk (18844) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 6, 2003
UPDATED: DEC 20, 2003 Hazy golden, not much head. Aroma is citrus and elder, a little sour.Flavor is both malty and hoppy, and has a bitter finish chrisv10 (18506) - DENMARK - MAR 7, 2010

Clear brown color, creamy medium-sized off-white head, lace. Flowery aromatic hoppy nose. Crisp, flowery hoppy ale. Well-balanced, good bitter aftertaste. Tasty.
Very nice amber pour with creamy white head. Nose is grapefruits and flower patch. Taste is nicely bitter, a little sweet resin and lots of citrus. Rated 11/15/2000

Bottle, 12oz. It pours an almost clear, golden body under a finger-thick, creamy, off-white head. Piney, citrusy nose with a malty sweetness in the back. The flavor has piney, resiny hops giving a fine bitterness, and malty sweetness to balance it. Dryish, full body. The finish is very much like the initial flavor, with a pleasant bitterness. A nice beer, but it sort of lacks something. That might of course be freshness, as it’s not as quenching as expected. A nice one though. (090411) FatPhil (17080) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 21, 2008

Rich orange, tiny head. Beautifully hoppy aroma - new world hops, citrussy and fruity. Fairly malty body, but a huge bitter hoppy bite. Sticky and resiny, leaving a long bitter finish. Cascade used very well - other brewers could learn from these guys. Benzai (16690) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - AUG 8, 2011
Disappointing beer. It’s not bad, but I expected it to be better. Don’t really taste ’heavely cascade hopped’. brokensail (16648) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 21, 2010
A: The pour is a hazy, pale golden color with a fluffy white head and amazing lazing.
S: The smell is very citrusy, mostly orange and lemon, along with a fair amount of spicy hops. The malt smell is present, but definitely not the main attraction.
T: The taste is fairly light, but enjoyable. There are the same citrus and spicy hop flavors that were present in the nose, and a nice bready malt.
M: The body is a bit thin and light, and the carbonation is quite abundant.
D: This is a great session pale ale. I haven’t had one of these in quite awhile, but I remember why I used to enjoy it so much. Dedollewaitor (16393) - Odense, DENMARK - JUL 9, 2007
Unclear gold with a white head. Malts & bitter fruity hops in the aroma. Medium body. Nice maltiness & yeast that goes well with the good amount of hops. Bitter hoppy finish. Nice!
