COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Liberty IPA™ is our reimagining of craft-brew classic Liberty Ale®, envisioned through the lens of today’s IPAs. We first brewed Liberty Ale in 1975, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Paul Revere’s midnight ride. This revolutionary forerunner of the modern IPA introduced America to the Cascade hop and the nearly lost art of dry-hopping. Like its predecessor, Liberty IPA is made with two-row pale malt and Cascade hops. It is the combination of Cascade with new hop varieties that creates the mouthwateringly complex and robust aromas of pine and citrus in this crisp, American-style IPA.

0.355 l bottle from ’BierPost.com’ at 6.3% abv, bottled in March 2017. Clear, golden amber with a medium large, foamy, stable, white head. Sweetish, quite fruity, slightly resiny and a bit herbal aroma of mango, orange jam, candied apricot and some pine. Moderately sweet, fruity-resiny and slightly herbal-grassy taste of orange jam, tea leaves, mango and some pine, followed by a medium long, moderately dry-bitter, resiny and slightly herbal-grassy finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Easily drinkable, but not too fresh and relatively herbal IPA. Overall absolutely decent though.

25-JUL-2017, bottle from Systembolaget Nordstan, Gteborg. Golden with a White head. Citrus hops. Grape fruit, pine, a Little soap. Malty sweetness and hoppy bitterness. Old School IPA. I Wonder how fra this is from the Liberty Ale. I guess not a lot. Nothing new here and disappointing that Anchor brings this to the table.

Bottle. cloudy golden with semilasting foam. Aroma is butter, malt and caramel. The same butter is in the taste also together with malt, caramalt, some hoppy fruits and finished with a bitter ending. Its a different ipa, but not something for me, weird.

Stabil!

Not bad. Tastes a lot like Liberty Ale. Aroma was decent. Lemon, grapefruit and dish soap. Pour was a hazy light orange with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was pretty good. Nice and bitter with grapefruit rind and soapy flavors in the front and a decent sweetening maltiness in the finish. Not a world class IPA by any means but not bad. Good carbonation

Interesting twist on the original Liberty Ale. Focusing the beer on Cascades is a welcome old-school angle, placing classic resin-and-pine IPA stickiness above the more fruit-heavy modern hop bombs. Some citrus and pungent herb comes through on the back end, while apple-tinted yeast esters provide a curious undercurrent below the caramel and biscuit from the malts. Lovely pour, cloudy orange-gold with a lasting head and ample lace. Nose is the weakest point, mostly yeast, and sweet malt with slight edges of pine. Good texture. Not a bad IPA.

Snygg västkust-IPA. Gott.
