Porter like in color.
Aroma of dark fruit mostly, little barrel on the nose.
Flavor is malty, fruity and earthy. Rarely do I say this, but the barrel presence is weak. I appreciate subtlety but wanted more in this one.
A decent beer overall, if not what was expected. Like many Anchor beers, well crafted but ultimately unremarkable.

Bottle… RBWG ‘10… Clear mahogany ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. In the nose and flavor, caramel, toasted almonds and coconut are real standouts. Medium-bodied with nearly expired carbonation. Whispers of wood and bourbon in the finish. daknole (11050) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - FEB 22, 2010
