COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
San Francisco’s celebrated Old Foghorn Ale has been virually handmade by the brewers of Anchor Steam Beer, in one of the world’s smallest and most traditional breweries, since 1975. Our barleywine-style ale, the first of its kind in modern times in the United States, has a luscious depth of flavour that makes it ideal for sipping after dinner. It is made with top-fermenting yeast, fresh whole hops, and "first wort", the richest runnings of a thick all-malt mash. Old Foghorn is "dry hopped" in the classic ale tradition and aged in our cellars until it attains the perfect balance of malty sweetness, estery fruitiness, and exquisite hop character, for which it is known throughout the world. A ruby red ale with little carbonation and a warm finish.

Bottle. Hazy red to amber body, smal yellowish head. Aroma of star anise, cinnamon, alcohol, clive, malt. Taste is lightly sweet, lightly bitter. Caramel, alcohol, touch of spiceness. Fuller body, medium carbonation.
OK, but a bit disappointment.

Color marrón tirando a rojo. Poca espuma, blanca y duradera.

From Decervecitas. In Teku glass. Playing Thats Mahjong, then Cannon Defenders. Toffee and figs. Good aroma but in mouth the alcohol is too much noticeable for such an ABV. Bbf this month (my fault). To repeat fresher

Good barley-wine. Not as intense as we all think it has to be. Aroma is typical barley wine-ish, a little bit just its watery(i guess, asi remember)

12oz bottle at home. Clearish amber brown with a thin off-white head. Caramel, bread, sweet malt, plums, oranges, resiny hops. Full bodied. Sweet malt, fruit and spice in the warming finish. Maybe a little lighter and fresher than some other BWs. This is just awesome - delicious.

Bottle from Damian. Pours dark amber with little head, aroma of plums, sweet. Rich barley taste, plums, dark fruits, rather heavy, very pleasant, medium sweet, long barley wine, sweet finish. Very nice
