2012 - Single bottle from Total Wine. Very dark amber pour with a small tan head. Heavy lacing. A lot of vanilla and ginger in the aroma, along with some pine, citrus, and dough. Pretty heavy malt taste to start, then grass/pine, bread, bitter chocolate. Finishes with some cinnamon/ginger spice. Medium-bodied, low carbonation. Not bad, but wouldn’t keep me from reaching for a lot of other winter releases first. kermis (14999) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - NOV 17, 2012
Bottle shared from ABC Beers. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of Christmas spices, nutmeg, dark fruits, Christmas pudding. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Jriggz7 (122) - Indiana, USA - NOV 23, 2012
Dark brown slight ruby color. Nose of spice, and pine. Taste gingerbread cookies, figs, cinamon. Tasty christmas ale. DoubleEh (15) - - DEC 18, 2012
Bit strange. Pours a nice clear dark brown with a big frothy head that lingers. Lots of spice in the nose .... Nutmeg maybe? Taste follows suit with a good dose of Xmas spice upfront. Bit of sweet malt underneath. Reminded me a bit of gingerbread. Little bit of piney hops to finish it off. Remarkably light in body, surprisingly so. Overall a bit of an enigma for me .... Not sure if I love it or hate it.

Bottle. Malty, fruity and spicy aroma. Prunes, raisins, nutmeg, licorice, allspice, some cinnamon, caramel and walnut. Slightly gingerbready, also somewhat reminiscent to a dark bock in part. Taste is light tart and chocolatey, continuing to a light bitter, gingerbready, nutty finish with notes of licorice, coffee and roasted malt. Body is light to medium but still a brew suitable for Christmas. Very good. kapusil (1563) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JAN 28, 2013
On tap. Dark brown body, beige head. Aroma of nutmeg, chocolate and ginger. Flavor of chocolate and honey gingerbread cookie. Not bad, but nothing extra. dhunter151 (590) - Santa Rosa, California, USA - JAN 28, 2013
Piney taste almost like drinking a Christmas tree. Cinnamon, clove and nutmeg flavors. It's ok but it's so intense that I can't have more than one.

2012 Giant Bottle. Complex in the spice mix with the malts and hops. I’d like to age this.
