2007, bottled. dark ruby with tan head. overwhelming aromas of nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie. slight bit of anise, spruce, and black licorice. medium full body that tingles with a good dry hop to balance the complex flavors. obxdude10 (2347) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 19, 2010
This is the 2010 ’version’ and it’s spectacular! It’s seems like a cross between a dopplebock and a Belgain abbey ale. It starts off with a beautiful dark brown pour and a one-inch-thick brown head. The head leaves some really nice lacing around the sides of the glass. The arom is mostly malt-based, with notes of bread, yeast, earth, brown sugar, barley and sweet spices. The body is fairly thick, but very drinkable, especially for this time of year. This beer will definitely warm you up on those cold late fall/winter evenings. The flavors are delicious and keep you coming back for more. I get hints of earth, lightly tosted bread, sweet malts, light chocolate, a little bit of cream, brown sugar, toffee and chocolate. The finish is a little bubbly and thick, but again, that adds to the enjoyment and excitment of this beer. I’m gonna try to keep some of it around until Christmas and New Year’s, but it’s gonna be tough not to drink the whole case until then. Beerowulf (119) - , Indiana, USA - DEC 25, 2010
Served from Magnum bottle. 2008 vintage. Dark brown with 2 finger head. Sweet and roasty taste and a great smooth finish. 2008 was a good year for this one!!!!!! bpreo (2863) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - DEC 7, 2011
UPDATED: NOV 24, 2014 Holiday/Christmas Ale version 2011. It tastes like Christmas, and that is alright with me.
2014: delicious. Tastes strong at first, and the greatest malt aftertaste at the end. 4.5 stars LKT1983 (112) - Benton, Kentucky, USA - NOV 12, 2012
2012 bottle. What a difference in taste from anything else I’ve had lately. Hard to describe the taste from a sample, but I loved it.

Piwo kupione w Piwo Regionalne Katowice na Mariackiej. Edycja na 2014 rok. Ciemne piwo z rubinowymi refleksjami. Piana ?adnie budzi szk?o, chocia? jest obecna tylko w postaci kr??ka. Przyprawowowy aromat - go?dziki, cynamon, ga?ka muszkata?owa, any?(chyba) i jaka? mniej s?odka przyprawa. Smak to jeden wielki festiwal przypraw. Jest piernikowy ale same piwo jest wytrawne. Poza przyprawami w tle czu? lekk? ciasteczkowo?? od s?odów. Bardzo z?o?one i bardzo dobre piwo. ordybill (1805) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - JUL 8, 2015

2005 vintage on tap at Belmont Station and also a 2007 magnum pour at Danimal’s 30th birthday party--Poured a deep chestnut-mahogany brown-amber. One or two-fingered off-white head. Spicy, nutty, gingery aroma that proved quite complex. Flavor and palate just as intriguing. Crisp and full bodied. Sweet and dry. Hints of root spices and spruce, fur, or pine needles. One of the best winter beers of all time. 17thfloor (2443) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 28, 2008
UPDATED: FEB 2, 2010 [2006 Bottle - almost 2 years old 10.28.08] Pours a dark thick murky reddish brown with a small thick creamy beige head. Smells like christmas spice cake & eggnog, cinnamon, raisins, tons of nutmeg and a touch of oxidation. Rich flavor, dry nutty caramel malts, touch of coffee, hint of dark molasses, the spices blend seamlessly with the malt and are surprisingly not overpowering. This is a beer to be reckoned with; pecan-pie in a bottle. I love the nutmeg. Faint hint of oxidized hops that give it a brandy like richness, decadent. Medium/full body, lightly chalky/creamy with very smooth fine fluffy carbonation, great mouthful. This is one of the better beers I’ve had in a while. . . . . . . . 18.104.22.168.17 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [2009 bottles are quite good!]
