4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
I felt like i was drinking christmas, it made me happy. Goes well with blackberry pie, oreo ice cream, pizza rolls, and cracker chasers. I love the change from year to year
Our Special Ale pours a very dark brown color with a frothy beige head of short to medium life span. If the head had dissipated a little more slowly, this brew would have been very beautiful. The bouquet is somewhat savory and has notes of prunes, pine, and Worcester sauce while the malt has the aroma of fruit bread, which carries over to the sweet attack. The well balanced mid-palate is less savory than the nose suggests and the layered mix of dried dark fruits, roast, and pine resin notes is very pleasant. It leaves a long finish with notes of German dark bread crust on the palate. Damn, this is good beer. angel77 (3677) - oviedo, SPAIN - AUG 15, 2017
UPDATED: AUG 15, 2017 Botella 33 cl en el Lúpulo Oviedo diciembre 2011. Edición 2010. Fcpref 09..2012. (r2111). Maltosos muy especiados, recuerdos de anises y algunos enebros. Cuerpo medio fino, espumoso. 5.5 vol suaves. Original. hauxe (859) - Butzbach, Hesse, GERMANY - JUL 28, 2017
2015 vintage. Pours mahogany from the bottle. The crown is thick and frothy. Aroma is toffee, red berry, port wine. Taste is a bit tart, mildly bitter, spicy, oddly void of sweetness given the aroma, weird. Body approaches being medium, but also oddly thin at times. Interesting, but it failed to grow on me. 2009 vintage. Intense plums and dry cake. Bready grainy body with dry dried fruits - cherries and plums, Round with no bitterness and a moderate sweetish malty aroma in the and. Very round, but probably too long matured. hawthorne00 (4029) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUL 21, 2017
2016 bottle, 12C. Very dark brown with a light tan head that fades to a coat. Aroma of strong bread, brown sugar, dried banana, spices - mace, nutmeg etc. Spices are by no means domineering. A bit lighter bodied than expected. Only a little sweet with bread, dried fruit and spices before a modestly bitter finish. Very nice with subtle depth, but hoped for a little bit more grunt for 6.5%

Vintage 2016 Bottle from saveur Bière. Warm summer nigth and winter beer.. It works! Exellent complex dried fruit aroma, winter spices taste. Good mrjaxson (607) - .08 Junction, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 2, 2017
Popped the cap and unleashed a real spice bomb of an ale. It borders on a dense perfume aroma with no traditional ale scents present. A course, thick body with a thin finish. This was a bottle from the 2016 vintage, 6.5% ABV. Maybe 2016 was a bad recipe but I don’t anticipate buying this again. bwy (91) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 19, 2017
Malt blend gives off that dry fruit and molasses. Comes through with the festive spirit. Gets better when warms up a bit.

Bottle 2010 - pours brown with tan head - nose and taste of molasses, toffee, caramel, spice - medium body 19Oracolo78 (211) - ITALY - APR 29, 2017
