COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
San Francisco’s famous Anchor Porter brand is made in one of the smallest and most traditional breweries in the world by the brewers of Anchor Steam Beer. Our old-fashioned Porter is virtually handmade, with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. We use 100% malted barley, generous amounts of fresh, whole hops, entirely natural carbonation and a simple, natural brewing process which is like no other in the world. The deep black color, the thick, creamy head and the intensely rich flavor of Anchor Porter, made in San Francisco since 1974, have earned this delicious and unique brew a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality. It is aesthetically pleasing and wholly superior in every respect.

MuertosPorter (24) - California, USA - MAR 7, 2008
Pours a dark chocolate brown with a nice thick beige residual head. Rather lively carbonation on the palate. Unsweetened chocolate, dark roast coffee, burgundy, dried sweet plums. Medium body with some hop bitterness in the finish. Smooth and highly drinkable. Stands above the average porter, but does not quite emphasize its qualities to thoroughly entice the palate. - Very good.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2017 Pours black coffie with 2 fingers of tan head. Excellent lacing. Smells sweet malted barley and caramel. Taste is malty with mild bitter hops finish. ABV is a bit low for a porter but its a good beer.

Very good Porter. Nice choice. My recommendation to try with dry meat. Our company prefer such a dark beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bill Becker (1806) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - OCT 25, 2017
From Jun 2007 Purchased at Liquor Shed in Casper. This pours from 12oz bottle a very dark brown with a small tannish head of foam. It shrinks to an island in the middle and it has good lacing. The smell has a lot of chocolate and sweet malt with just a whiff of some hoppy goodness. The taste is very big and very nice. I get a lot of chocolate and roasted malt and some good coffee notes as well. Smooth yet full flavoured. Swishing the beer in my mouth, I get a more pronounced hop bitterness that really balances and goes well with the sweet start that I got. Man...this is a *great* Porter. The mouthfeel is elegant and the carbonation is just right and the finish has a nice bitter zing to it. I haven't bought a sixer of this in years and that makes me shake my head in disbelief. Bottom line: This is a world class American Porter that just about anyone can find in the US. Highly recommended!!

Aromat mocno kawowy i czekoladowy. W smaku głównie mleczna czekolada i suszone owoce, fajnie się zestarzał.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2017 Spectacular, notes of chocolate, liquorice, coffee, toasted, black bread, nice cream. Amazing aroma and body with not strong alcohol. it reminded me a bit to the artisan Kvas what i like so much.

szczupaczu (163) - Rurzyca, POLAND - OCT 9, 2017
W aromacie nudy, kawa ale nie za bardzo intensywna. W smaku podobni kawa, paloność, ciut kwaskowe, konkretnie wytrawne, dość wodniste. Zasadniczo nic specjalnego.
