Subtle flavor. There's nice maltiness in this refreshing beer, but no big flavors. Goes well with the pizza I'm having in SF.

Bottle, from US. Backlog entry. Entering my historic scores for US beers whilst visiting New York. No tasting notes kept, just rating. Bootlegger007 (233) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 18, 2017
Pours a lovely dark amber colour with a good sized creamy off white head, laces well, solid malt aromas, caramel and bread, light citrus orange and hops, giving the mild bitter mouthfeel, medium body and a very good session ale, easy drinking. Tjomleif (236) - NORWAY - AUG 16, 2017
Clear amber with nice cream colored head. Clean taste that you get from a lager. Straw grassy taste with malty aftertaste. Not what I expected, but very drinkable nevertheless. angel77 (3499) - oviedo, SPAIN - AUG 15, 2017

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2017 I drank this many years ago, thought I’d give it a try now that I’m into micros. Happy to say it still tastes great. a little ’go to’ beer.

10/20 initial taste like a lager but it’s got a bit of zest to it and a pleasant long aftertaste dunklermessias (261) - GERMANY - AUG 6, 2017
355 ml bottle. Pours with a clear, dark amber color with a very nice off-white head. Aromas of orange-peel, syrup, dark honey, hay. Taste is herbal with bitter flavors, although some grapes. Nice mouthfeeling. Nice dry finish. Schnabelhund (97) - TAIWAN - AUG 3, 2017
Anchor Steam Beer pours a copper color with minimal haze and its short-lived head is white. The nose unfolds notes of wood, orange peels, and breadiness. The attack is as bready as expected from the nose and is first followed by a relatively grippy yet silky mid-palate of wood as well as pine needles and finally by a bitter finish with just a hint of mint leaves. Rustic and enjoyable. AnG_BrgNor (767) - Bergen, NORWAY - AUG 2, 2017
