Clear Amber hue with a thin Rocky light beige head. Thick bready malt aroma with a sort of underlying earthy and herbal bitterness. The flavor is initially a bit bitter with some earthy hop resins and bitter orange peel, a little herbal and bitter at the end, with a presence of toasted bready slightly amber malts throughout. A bit bitter and herbal overall. phaleslu (10652) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 9, 2015
500 ml bottle from Homer321- thanks, Sean! Pours a cloudy darkish orange, rich in hue, with a big, frothy off-white head. Notes of banana, tea, caramel, brown sugar, plum, dates, pine, and grapefruit. Medium-full bodied, with moderate carbonation and a resinous, malty mouthfeel. If I hadn’t read the description, I’d have assumed this was some kind of Belgian beer. Really, really strange. I have no idea what’s going on here. Drank from a pilsner glass poured from a big bottle. Wonderful aromas of malts, peaches, and cherries. Pours a clear light copper color with very little head. Tastes crisp with an odd bitterness to it. jgb9348 (6474) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - OCT 4, 2014
Crisp amber and light copper coloured body with a decent, two centimetre tall just tan head. Aroma of crisp alcohol, light malt, a touch of hops and not much else, except for some mild bitter metal. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong metallic flavours up front with some bitter nuts, earth and malts with a touch of hop bitterness and only a small sweet flavour from caramel. Aftertaste is plain bitter with metal battling against the hops and unfortunately metal winning out. Overall, a pretty poor APA with not many good flavours and instead only funky flavours and bitterness coming from unfriendly sources. I sampled this 65 cL anchor-style bottle purchased from K&E Beverage in New Paltz, New York on 14-June-2014 for US$9,99 sampled at home in Washington on 04-October-2014. (Bottle). Clear copper complexion with thick head and glass lacing. Malty aroma. Flavor is balanced but with some biting alcohol. Not as smooth as anticipated.

Pour from a 22oz bottle. Deep amber / orange brew with tan head. Aroma of caramel malt, tart fruit, green hops, earth. Taste is an upfront mix of sweet caramel malts and bitter / tart fruity hops. Swallow ends iwht more earth and citrus hops emerging on top of it all. A bit ponderous but tasty. Maverick34 (3303) - New York, USA - APR 27, 2014

Drought. Amber-orange with creamy tan head, doughy aroma, flat sweetish hoppy taste, low carbonation, abrupt finish with bitter aftertaste. A bit thin and flat for my liking. madmitch76 (25537) - , Essex, ENGLAND - MAR 23, 2014

Tap East. Keg. Lightly hazy amber beer, small pale cream coloured head. Light crisp palate. Minerals. Smooth malt with a fair bit of toffee - caramel sweetness. Light cream. Bitterish pine on the backend. Light crisp finish. A sweetish and messy pale ale, was intrigued by the new hops but they put so much malt in the way I couldn’t taste ’em. A disappointment!
