Brown pour with a white head. The aroma has some toffee up front with some grapes and a bit of tartness thrown in. The flavor is also very nice. I get some grapes and orange notes as well as some light tartness. As the beer warms I start to get some oak and cognac notes. The fruit is very juicy and goes well with the tart notes. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Awesome beer.

Bottle - Wood, cherry and a bit of appropriate acetone. Cloudy amber with a thin beige head. Slight tart bite up front, cherry, oak and a bit of a sweet tart finish. Smells much better than the taste.

At the Anchorage presentation at The Wine & Cheese Place - Pours dark amber / mahogany with a beige head. The aroma has a nice mix of toasty malt, brown sugar, and citric / vinegar sourness. It has a medium / light body with some richness to it and soft carbonation. The flavor begins with dark fruits, red fruits, caramel, nutty malt and a nice crisp sourness that balances well and bring all of the flavors together. The finish has a rich sweetness, but heavy citric / lactic sourness balancing. "Balance" would be the key to this beer. Excellent in every way.

Bottle. Semi cloudy brown pour, with an off white head. Vinous, oak, balsamic vinegar, cherry, leather, a bit earthy, and some sweetness. Decent.

Pours a deep reddish brown with a small head.

The aroma is funky with a bunch of cherry. Its earthy rich and oaky all around.

The flavor is tart with some sour fruit and burnt sugar. Its got a bunch of tart cherry character & oakiness.

Neat.

On tap @ Presidential Suite. Thanks, Peter. Dark brown in color with a khaki head. Lots of grape skin, balsamic vinegar, and leather. Slight oak. Some grass, a bit of roasted malt, and dark fruits. Slight sweetness to the flavor along with a moderate tartness. Acetic/balsamic notes and a bit of fruit leather. Some roast, oak, and lots of grass. Dry finish. Minimal malt and fruit sweetness.

Aroma so oaky! Smells like oak chips.

Dat barrely balance; obv a Stave beer. Cognac massages the palate. Meticulous balance. Dammit Chad, stop being so awesome.
