Bottle... Cloudy Longhorn-orange pour with no head. The aroma is stacked with yeast-driven spiciness, some maltiness and a decent element of stone-fruitiness. Full-bodied with airy carbonation. The flavor is tart, malty and fruity, although there’s less fruitiness and sourness than I was hoping for. At least there is some slight cognac warmth. Finishes tart, raspy and dry. Bottle courtesy of biggsbowler!

Man this is good. The flavor? Sweet jesus. wow. That’s for the haters. HAHA. Anywya, it pours a nice brown color, beige head. Its quite sour but its soft and supple at the same time. Cherry, balsamic, grapes, woody notes, funk...just a superior beer.

On tap @ the release party @ Crooked Stave’s Source location. Somewhat hazy reddish brown appearance with a thin, disappearing tan head. Aroma has a bunch of plum / dark berry / dark grape fruits. Some tannic notes also present and actually a fair amount of roast / toffee / caramel / burnt malt. The flavor is moderately tart. Black cherry / dark grape notes are pretty apparent. Some woody / leathery notes. Light acetic acid. Finishes pretty smooth. Pretty fun brew and definitely easy to drink.

Bottle from Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark brown with a modest tan head and a sour treacle aroma. There is a moderately sour brown ale flavor with lots of oak an a warm alcohol trail. Very delicious.

phaleslu (10324) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 15, 2014
Pour from a 750 ml bottle at The Party Source/Ei8ht Ball. Pours a cloudy brown-amber with a tiny off-white head that quickly settles into a ring. Notes of sour cherry, brown sugar, oak, toast, balsamic vinegar, tannins, sour mash, cognac, and sweet and sour candy. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sour mouthfeel that is balanced by some sweetness and toastiness. Finishes drier than expected. Very nice take on the style.

> Bizarre passionfruit and hot pepper mildly acetic dark sour

[ Bottle ][ 750mL ][ montrealbctr ][ Tasting ][ Snifter Tulip ][ 5.28.14 ]
>> Clear deep amber pour, tan spotty lace. Nose is tropical fruit, hot red peppers, passionfruit, cranberry, salty acetic. Really odd but nice. Taste is acetic, salty, cranberry. Mouthwatering pickle and salt. Not bad, strange dark sour. Tannic, salty, mild pickle. Quite the bizarre experience.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, dark reddish brown pour with lasting tan head, aroma brought notes of cognac, spirit barrel, oak, earth, some lime, lactic notes into a bit of brett, slight red fruity notes. Taste is a mix of sour fruit, raspberry, cherry into a bit of wine, cognac like notes, oak, slightly bitter yeast notes into some lime, lactic, finishing fairly tart, slightly bitter. Tasty stuff.
