Rich amber with a moderate beige covering.
Nose is rich dark fruit, spice, sweet notes, fruit cake, light wood.
Taste comprises more fruit cake, sticky toffee pudding, light cognac tunes, caramel.
Full bodied, viscous feel, lightly warming alcohol in the close.
Decent barley wine, good balance, drinks well below the ABV.

On tap at CBC, pours a reddish dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma of toasted caramel and brandy barrels -- doesn’t taste that pungent to be honest. Flavour is very potent, with cognac barrels and caramel. Quite complex, considering the ABV, and the alcohol is very well-concealed. Very different for Anchorage’s typical beers. Draught at CBC 2013. Clear amber/mahogany beer with a nice beige head. Fruity aroma, toffee, caramel, cognac, prunes, dades, vinous, floral notes, raisins, brown sugar. Malty prunes flavor, lots of warming alcohol, dades, toffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, cognac, woody notes, vinous. Huge bodied. Vinous caramel flavor, toffee, caramel and warming alcohol. Bottle - Dark sugars, caramel and a touch of wood. Deep brown with a beige head. Sweet. dark sugars, caramel and a lingering sweetness and heat. Some boozy heat, but not offensive. Bottle @ Mikkeller San Francisco. Deep mahogany pour with a thin ring of khaki foam. Smells quite sweet and fruit forward. A ton of caramel, raisin, plum, and figs. Nice caramelized fruit and brown sugar. Plenty of vanilla, brandy, and oak. A Bit of chocolate and red wine/port. The flavor is super fruity and sweet, too. A lot of chocolate sauce and dessert wine. Quite like a port. Some brandy, vanilla, and brown sugar. Tons of rich caramel and buttery toffee. Slight booze as it warms. Really nice, though. Would crush again.
