Tap @ CBC 2013.
Pours lovely chestnut brown with a small, creamy film head. Aroma is sweet, nutty, toasted, vinious, port, oak, raisins and plums. Low carbonation, lovely dry and oily mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, light sticky caramel, oak, sherry, plums, apples. Warming but never sharp. Exqusite balance.

Draft at Mikkeller. Pours cloudy dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, toffee, bread, raisins, overripe dark fruits and brown sugar. Flavour is heavy sweet. Extremely thick mouthfeel. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Very nice, but too strong.

750ml bottle. This was a big boy for sure. Poured a dark brown color with a tan head. Brandy/cognac, dark fruits, nutty, wood, and vanilla. Yep, alcohol in the finish and definitely a sipper.

750ml bottle. This is just firey booze, sweet malt, dry alcohol burn, cognac, this is not the best.

Draught @ CBC 2013: Dark amber coloured. Unclear. Dense beige head. ARoma: ripe fruits, alcohol, wood, caramle, spice. Flavour: Caramel, dark fruits, spice alcohol, wood and cognac. Medium to full bodied. Ends fruity and pleasantly bitter. Nice alcholbite on lips and palate.

daknole (10920) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAY 13, 2014
Brown pour, reddish tinge to it, and a nice off white head. The flavor is quite impressive and the ABV is hidden remarkably well. Sweet, dark fruit, cognac, brandy, vanilla, caramel, golden raisins, doughy, really smooth for such a big beer.

Bottle... This beer rocks!... Pours dark brown with burnt-orange highlights and no head. The aroma is of dates and brandy with a hint of maple. Mega full-bodied and stoopid chewy with nearly no carbonation. The flavor offers malty notes of dates and figs interwoven with a nice, fruity, brandy component. Smooth alcohol booziness in the lightly sweet finish. Most viscous beer Ive run across, and Ive run across a lot of beer. Many thanks to newcigarz for sharing this world class bottle of beer!

UPDATED: MAY 11, 2015 Batch 1 bottle @ What the Funk Denver 2014. Pours an orangish brown appearance with light lasting head. Aroma is full of dark grapes, caramel, toffee, and some nice tannic notes. Theres some oxidation notes in the nose and flavor but they seem to complete the alcohol in a good way. Raisin, plum, dark grape, caramel flavor. Some heat on the back end but not that bad. By far, my favorite of the festival and a real treat. Only wish I would have had a chance to get another pour. (4.5)

Batch 2 bottle @ home. Cloying, low carbonation, gooey. High boost. Kind of fun but not as good as I remembered batch 1 being. (4.0)
