Pours near black with a small but creamy tan head. Aroma dominated by caramel and sour cherry - the pinot noir in oak definitely comes through. Flavor is deliciously complex, beginning with a smooth wine-like flavor that quickly transitions to the brett sour before subtly finishing with a caramel and coffee blend.

savnac (2391) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - DEC 7, 2013
750ml bottle. Dark brown with a small dense tan head. Aroma of tart cherry, cocoa, damp wood and funky bacteria. Flavor is bitter chocolate malt, tart cherry, dry oak and light sour, no alcohol taste. Medium body with a soft mouth feel. Good beer, all the different components come together fairly well but not one Id want to drink very often.

Bottled. Pours brown with no real head. Smells sour and a lot of caramell malt. Tastes sour, vineger, caramell malt.

28-NOV-2013, bottle @Topdanmark American tasting, from Mikkeller & Friends. Dark, dark brown with red hue. No head. Aroma is red wine mostly. Oak, lemon, brett. Taste the same with quite some malty elements on top. Not exactly a stout but there are some roasted notes. Quite full body and very low carbonation. A tad tart but never really sour. Really tasty, but I miss the carbonation.

Lukaduke (3045) - Gray, Maine, USA - NOV 25, 2013
Pours a deep umber color with three fingers of gaseous khaki foam. The nose has lots of vinous funk, sour cherry, earthy roast and a touch of composted dirt. The palate follows and is a bit murky and almost taste of rust. Sour vinous fruit with a heavy roast profile that just dont meld together harmoniously. Bit of a let down.

JBPortland (1492) - Hampton Roads, Virginia, USA - NOV 25, 2013
750ml bottle pours black with very small thin head. Nose is tart, artificial berry, a bit medicinal. Taste is roasty dark chocolate, ash, medium tartness, fruity. Finish is a smokey dark roast coffee, sweet chocolate, tart dark cherry. Gets better as it warms, but overall its kind of strange.

[email protected] Opaque black color, small brown color. Slightly tart, cellary, some toastyness. Medium-bodied. Malts, tartness, maybe some caramel. Well drinkable beer. Not too extreme and ABV is well covered.

Pours a dark black with a light brown head, aromas of the Pinot noir barrels definitely come through, nice fruit notes come through with a tart finish. Very good overall

Bottle. Batch #1, March/20013. Sour pickles, straight, over powering Pedio. Roasted chocolate, puckering sourness, no hops. Not as complex as I would like it to be. Simply straightforward.
