Tasted on 1/21/14 from a corked and caged 750mL bottle purchased at Louisville Beer Store. Pours completely opaque black with a thin, slow-forming brown head that slowly recedes to a very thin collar of lace. The nose is molasses, anise, vanilla, brown sugar, and it is lightly funky and vinous. The flavor is fairly sweet with a whole lot of coconut and vanilla backed up by the molasses, brown sugar, and some nicely bitter roasted coffee. The body is full with just under average carbonation and a long roasted coffee, brown sugar, coconut, and lightly funky vinous finish.

Bottled. Old note. The aroma has lots of chocolate, coffee, roast, some fruity and funky tones. Black coloured beer with a thin, beige head. The taste is moderate bitter, bit sweet, has chocolate, red fruits, roast. Great stuff.

Blast from the past while suppressing my anger .. Sour roast .. Super deep, makes me contemplate fighting midgets .. Like really fucking them up .. . Good beer, hits all sour and dark notes, evil people drink this out of skulls Im guessing

Bottle thanks to Tom. Pours a very dark brown with medium beige head that lasts. The aroma is roasted malts, rye, vanilla, wood. Thin mouth, strong rye, nice roast, dark fruit, very sweet, boozy finish, very nice.

Pours a deep brownish black from the bomber with bubbly ring of tan head. Aroma of sweet chocolate and whiskey with a hint of funky acidity underneath. Taste follows, an interesting blend of the barrel aged stout and the sour. More mild on the sour than something like tart of darkness, and more less whiskey barrel than its later cousin. Really nice.

Bottle @ Home. Batch 1 marts/2013 Pours black with a fast fading light brown head, lively bubbles, lacings. Aroma of roasted malt, yeast, light brett, caramel, oak, wine barrels, dark fruits, rye, sweet licorice. Flavor is sweet, malty, brett, oak, wine barrels, red wine grapes, caramel, dark fruits, licorice, dark chocolate, light whiskey notes, some alcohol. Medium body, average to lively ccarbonation, sweet finish with some warming alcohol. Allthough there is alcohol is well integrated. Lovely sipper. 020116

750ml bottle. Black with short brown head. Smooth and silky wine-forward aroma. Taste is just exceptionally smooth and fruity. The drinkability of this one is phenomenal. If I have one minor criticism is that the rye whiskey barrel isnt as prominent. Fantastic stuff.
