This is a variation on the classic Belgian Witbier style, but aged in French Oak Chardonnay barrels

Brewed with lemon peel, black peppercorns and corriander (sic).
Triple fermented - first in the tank with Belgian yeast, second in french oak Chardonnay barrels with brettanomyces, and finally in the bottle with a third yeast for natural carbonation.

Leicht trübes, sehr helles Gelb mit reichlich Schaum. Leicht malzig, fruchtig, Zitrusfrüchte, Zitronenschale, Kräuter, leicht erdig, funky, sehr spritzig.

750ml corked bottle, 2015 vintage. Funky Brett aroma with notes of coriander, pepper, lemony citrus, oak and white wine. Pours clear pale, golden colored with a thin white head that has good retention but little lacing. Starts tart lemony citrus, coriander and pepper flavors as well as a lively mouthfeel. Finishes dry and clean with Brett funk, oak and white wine flavors. Crisp and refreshing wit.

Bottle, 650 ml, courtesy of Max. Shared with him, JFK10000 and Miro. Hazy yellow, medium white head. Funky, some wheat, citrus, lemony notes, moderate sourness. Light bodied. Medium carbonation.

Belgian witbier variation by this Alaskan brewery, aged on wine barrels and spiced with coriander but also lemon peel (rather than curaçao) and black pepper. Bomber shared at Nieuwjaarsreceptie of Gentse Biervereniging. Moussy, irregular, largely stable, egg-white head, cloudy straw blonde robe with olive greenish tinge - looking like a witbier indeed. Aroma of abbey cheese, soap, lemon peel indeed very noticeable, white grapes, sweat, yoghurt, pear juice, starfruit, coriander, some faint wood faraway in the background, hardly any pepper. Crisp, fruity onset, hinting at ripe banana, pear and white grape with something cucumber-like as well, soft carbo, rounded, fluffy and soapy mouthfeel. Bready middle with light wheat sourishness, becoming a bit 'wild' and funky in the finish, with a sweaty touch as well as mild white wine tartness; coriander and lemon peel retronasally, but again little of the black peppercorns. Some lingering, pleasantly bready yeastiness. Could perhaps improve with a bit more aging, curious to see what would come out of that, but in this form already a great beer and a creative addition to the old Belgian witbier or 'blancheke' standard.

Sample @ Nieuwjaarsreceptie Gentse Biervereniging. Thanks for sharing! Hazy yellow/white colour, white foam. Citrussy, notes of lemon, spices (coriander). Dry and bretty finish. Nice balanced Witbier

A refreshing beer, as ales come. A sweet note to it, and it isn't too harsh on the palate. It has a strong kick but is still easy to drink. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

backlog. Somewhat cloudy pale yellow. Firm head. Zesty aroma, lemony, black pepper. Dry mouthfeel, somewhat funky and complex. Nice

Panel w Carpe Kraft. Ładna mętno słomkowa barwa, piana znika szybko i zostaje po niej jedyni obrączka wokół szkła. Aromat słaby, lekko mydlany, trochę nut gumy balonowej, kolendry, ziołowość z piołunową nutą. W smaku czuć na pierwszym planie bretty, średnie wysycenie, ta mydlaność przeszkadza w odbiorze, szybko męczy.

Reviewed from saved notes. The appearance was a semi-hazy yellow color with a super quickly dissipating finger’s worth of white fizzy head. Quickly sliding lace. The aroma had a huge vinous/white grape quality about it, spritzy lemon/citrus sharp qualities, and light mineral water. The flavor was sour through the vinous/white grape quality and over doing the entire base. Aftertaste was the same and so was the finish. The palate was light bodied with too much sour harshness distracting the overall enjoyment of this beer. Carbonation was also a bit too much. ABV did feel fine. Overall, another overdone beer by Anchorage. Not a true witbier and also one that I wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole again.
