A product of traditional multiple mashing, Andechser Vollbier Hell presents a bright straw yellow and clear gleaming look that cannot fail to fascinate. Its head is firm and fine pored. Its aroma is pure and fresh from the cellar, with soft malty accents imbued with floral hoppiness. Its light and soft body leaves a pleasant, tangy taste in the mouth. The mild sweetness marries well with the velvety bitterness of the hops. It concludes on a rounded, harmonious note. Andechser Vollbier Hell is therefore a classical Bavarian Vollbier (11.5% original extract and 4.8% alcohol by volume).

The aroma is bread, grass The appearance is clear golden yellow, white head. The flavor is malty, grass, bready. The finish is grassy, spicy, German noble hops medium in body. Uninteresting, but competently brewed.

Draft at Andechser am Dom. Clear golden yellow color with a large, billowing white head. Nice honey, bread, biscuit aroma. Flavor is mildly sweet with honey and bready/doughy pilsner malts. Slight grassy hops, but very subtle. Medium-bodied and very smooth, crisp with high carbonation. Very good for the style.

Translucent straw with a thin but persistent white head. Creamy medium body with crisp high carbonation, and some slight tannin presence.

aroma: doughy pilsner malt with sweet bready notes associated with decoction mashing. Faint grassy herbal hop character. Clean and inviting.

Flavor: crisp carbonic bite, doughy pilsner malt, leafy grassy hops, and a rich biscuity finish likely from decoction.

Pour is a pale gold with a large white head. Aroma is a nice and bready wet dough with some fresh cut hay. Flavor is clean and adjunct free with the dry pale malt, a touch of bitter hops and a nourishing quality. Very thirst quenching as well. At the source this beer is probably a amazing example of the style. Its still pretty decent after making the journey here.

On tap deep in Bavaria. Pours a clear gold color with a soft white head. Aroma is flowers, candy and grain. Taste is near the some but with harmony and the palate is smooth. Not Andechs best Helles but still a great beer.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance The beer pours a clear straw golden color with a one finger head of fizzy white foam. The head has a lighter level retention, fading rather fast to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell The aroma of the beer was strongest of a bready smell mixed with a bit of a yeastiness. Along with these aromas comes some light notes of floral hops and a little bit of a biscuit smell. Taste The taste begins with a more bready and yeasty flavor, with these flavors creating a base for the brew. As the taste moves on some notes of grain and a little bit of a floral and grassy hop come to the tongue. The hop grows slightly stronger, but remains relatively light, to leave a crisp, but sorta bready taste (at least for a 4.8% abv. beer) to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel The body of the beer is average in terms of both its thickness and its creaminess. The moderate nature of the mouthfeel is perfect for the mix of bready and yeasty tastes along side the more moderate sessionable style of the beer. Overall - This was a rather easy drinking and flavorful beer at 4.8% abv. A very nice summer time session I would have to say.

The beer pours crystal clear yellow with a white head. The aroma has light dough, pale pils malt and lager smoothness. Pretty simple, but nice. It has a medium smooth body with soft carbonation. The taste starts with dry pale malt, smooth lager maltiness, some crackers and light spice. The finish has a light bite of hops with spiciness, but still malt forward. Nice.
