COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Andechser Weissbier Hefetrüb.

When summer is on the way and the days invite you to swim, ramble, climb, or simply enjoy the outdoors, you will discover that an Andechser Weissbier Hell is just the right thing to quench your thirst. Since Saint Joseph’s Day on 19 March 1993, Andechs Weissbier Hell has found many new friends. Untreated and bottled in its natural state of yeasty turbidity, this is a top fermented beer for the epicure. Its light honey colour makes it an immediate eyecatcher. Then there’s the opalescence and fine structure of the yeast turbidity. At the same time, the creamy, fine pored head invites you to get to know this light Weissbier from the Holy Mountain. You’ll need two takes to enjoy the aromas to the full. First, distinctive fruity aromas like banana and honeydew melon come to the fore, followed by fine cloves. Andechser Weissbier Hell is a very tangy, refreshing treat with the conviction of a full, soft body. It concludes on a finely balanced interplay of light sweet honey and a delicate acidity with undertones of bitter hoppiness that quickly subside into a harmonious aftertaste. A Weissbier that embodies a slice of the Andechs lifestyle: finely yeasty, tangy, and sparkling, it refreshes and renews the thirst for more (original extract: 12.5%; abv: 5.5%).

Hands down the best Hefe I ever tasted. I am not a hefe fan, and as such, I think the lack of chemical and funky filmy wheat aftertaste and thickness on the tongue isnt there. Its clean, refreshing, perfect in everyway to me. I do like all of Andechs offering but this just gave me hope for hefes. I love this beer. Crafted well, applause for this one! overall if you like Hefe, classical, original brewing tactics and surity, this is for you . If you love good beer this is for you.!!!! Try it today.

From Decervecitas. In Bavaria hefe glass. Playing Home is Where one Starts. Perfect example of the style. All typical flavors well noticeable here and finely tuned, great mouthfeel. And it was 2 months before bbf date!

On tap at the Monastery at Andechs in Germany. The Weissbier I compare all others by. A great beer along with the saurkraut and schweinshaxe I consumed. Served by the monks who brewed it. I’d like to know how it translates to bottle and whether it’s available in USA.

500 ml bottle. Pours cloudy dark orange with a high white head. Wonderful fruity wheat aroma. Great full bodied taste and slightly sour palate. One of the best existing wheat beers.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2006 Enjoyed a one liter maas of this beer at the monastery/ brewery. Outstanding Southern Bavarian hefeweizen, with fantastic aromas and flavors. This beer pours to a beautiful, opaque, bright golden color, with a tall, thick, creamy white head, and a vibrant carbonation. Lots of big aromas of clove, banana, and pear marry with good malted wheat aroma. The palate is firm with lots of good tart malted wheat character with a nice estery "bubble gum" note, This beer finishes very delicious and refreshing with more wheat flavor, and hints of clove that lingers. Without question one of the most impressive hefeweizens being brewed today from a very special place for beer lovers. Climb "Beer Mountain", and enjoy what Andechs has to offer.

Pours cloudy orange with a large white head. Smells sweet, banana, clove, and wheat. Taste is sweet, lightly fruity, hints of spice. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Andechser Weissbier Hefetrüb finishes with subtle sweetness.

Top class Weizen. Over all a great beer hard to beat after the other Andechs so I tasted it at home in a take away. Super class.
