When summer is on the way and the days invite you to swim, ramble, climb, or simply enjoy the outdoors, you will discover that an Andechser Weissbier Hell is just the right thing to quench your thirst. Since Saint Joseph’s Day on 19 March 1993, Andechs Weissbier Hell has found many new friends. Untreated and bottled in its natural state of yeasty turbidity, this is a top fermented beer for the epicure. Its light honey colour makes it an immediate eyecatcher. Then there’s the opalescence and fine structure of the yeast turbidity. At the same time, the creamy, fine pored head invites you to get to know this light Weissbier from the Holy Mountain. You’ll need two takes to enjoy the aromas to the full. First, distinctive fruity aromas like banana and honeydew melon come to the fore, followed by fine cloves. Andechser Weissbier Hell is a very tangy, refreshing treat with the conviction of a full, soft body. It concludes on a finely balanced interplay of light sweet honey and a delicate acidity with undertones of bitter hoppiness that quickly subside into a harmonious aftertaste. A Weissbier that embodies a slice of the Andechs lifestyle: finely yeasty, tangy, and sparkling, it refreshes and renews the thirst for more (original extract: 12.5%; abv: 5.5%).

Milky golden pour, nice head retention. I’m not really sure what to say about this one. Everything you look for in a good hefe is there, but nothing really sets it apart. Its very nicely balanced, and is a great example of the style, but it doesn’t have that little something that sets a brew like weihenstephaner apart on its own level. Very enjoyable though.

Cloudy yellow, stable head. Bananas and bready nose, some cloves and pepper mix (black, white, cubeba). Light acidity, light sweetness. Bready and peppery flavour, some wheat flour. Very good.

Pours almost like a NE IPA. Nice nose - big banana, light bread and restrained clove/bubble gum, and a touch of melon as advertised. Malty and yeasty on the palate. Pretty cool.

Color biondo opalescente con schiuma bianca di buona tenuta. Profumi: classica banana molto decisa,spezie e un leggero ritorno di lievito. Palato: banana spezie e frumento. Ottima weissbier con buon corpo e finale di frumento leggermente amaro.

From a 16.9 oz bottle into a glass. It has a wheaty lemony aroma that is a little richer and more pronounced than most hefes. The appearance is a yellow dehydrated pee with slight haze color with a medium thin head. The taste is a rich classic mesh of wheat yeast, banana, bubblegum, lemon, and some caramel malty flavor on the back end. Very solid and gets better the more you sip. Good for a chill Sunday night of post Aunt Gay visit sitting around and feeling sick to your stomach and headache waah.

Color anaranjado, opaco debido a su turbidez, con capa de espuma blanca de tres dedos de grosor (muy buena retención). Carbonatación media. Textura acuosa. Aroma clásico a pan, plátano, levadura, ligeras especias. Sabor a plátano, pan, cáscara de naranja, levadura. Buen balance entre dulzor y acidez, aunque tira más hacia lo primero. Postgusto frutal.

On tap at Man in the Moon, late September 2017. Hazy dark golden with a medium white head. Aroma of banana, yeast and clove. The same in the taste. Refreshing and easy to drink.

UPDATED: OCT 22, 2017 Замечательный классический вайсбир. Мутно-желтое пиво с очень сильным ароматом фруктов и пшеницы. По вкусу чувствуется бананы и немного манго. В послевкусие кислинка порой слишком сильно перебивает вкус. Пиво кстати по своему вкусу и запаху очень похоже на Пауланер. Всем любителям пшенички советую.

(Backlog, 50cl BL sampler). - Kurz: drier than your average classic clove-spiked bananabread, instead: Vanilla-dusted drybaked apple cake, near-dry and only minimally clovey. Not overly aromatic. Hints of candied catalope, applerings and Zitronat. Very light, attenuated yeast character, not too bloating. Among the classics, the antipode of Schneider Weisse.

UPDATED: SEP 19, 2017 Aroma: 6 Slight/medium aroma of malts, caramel, Weizen yeast, banana, fruit, hops, citrus and spices. Appearance: 4 Turbid/opaque golden/amber beer with a slight/medium off-white head. Taste/Palate: 7/4 Starts medium sweet with malts. caramel, Weizen yeast, banana and fruit; ends slightly bitter and dry with hops, citrus and spices. Overall: 14 This beer is intense, complex and balanced. This is especially true for its abv. Lovely Weizen yeast that brings a strong banana flavour with it. Decent amount of hops in the finish and also a slight bit of spices. Great appearance and palate as well, but the aroma could have been stronger.
