Our first Bahl Hornin’ beer was designed to pay tribute to our flagship beer. The recipe is actually the same as regular Boont Amber, just more of every ingredient packed into the same volume- double the hops, double the malts, and double the intensity. What we ended up with is a bigger amber ale that is velvet-smooth, robust and complex: sweet hints of medjool dates, prunes, golden raisins, and toasted marshmallows are balanced to perfection with darker notes of licorice, leather, and tobacco. The flavor is full-bodied to say the least; the moderate and balanced bitterness of the clean, noble hop flavor gives way to malty sweetness without delay. From its burnt-toffee appearance to its lingering complexity of bitter sweetness, this brew is sure to impress the most sophisticated of palates.

Amber pour with an off-white head. Intensely sweet aroma of caramel, brown sugar, and toffee. A touch of chocolate, some vanilla, and a rather intense hop profile of grapefruit and pine. Lots of hop flavor, particularly pine, but still some citrus. Not quite enough to overcome the intense maltiness. Tons of caramel, brown sugar, chocolate, and toffee.

From tap at Zlý ?asy, Pours cloudy amber liquid, medium frothy white to tan head, Aroma: white grapes, grapefruit, grass, herbal, light funky, lemon peel, Taste: light to medium sweet, light to medium bitter, light sour, not enought bold, mefiocre, should be some older keykeg. Did not realy catch my heart.

i dig this imperial version of a favorite amber...nuttier and maltier, but with a splash of citrus at the end and a bittersweet aftertaste.

Rating #1045 - March 27, 2014 - . Clear amber-reddish pour with a bubbly white head, sticky lacing. Aroma is a bucket load of earthy spicy hops. Taste is sticky caramel malty sweetness, with a powerful punch of hop textures. Medium carbonation, mild alcohol warmth, medium bodied. Lots of cool dry hop flavour in this one, very tasty.

On tap at Barley Brothers in Winnipeg, Canada. Really nice beer. Beautiful and sweet in appearance and flavour!

Pint on tap at Beer Revolution’s Edmonton location pours a deep amber color with a small white head which leaves no lacing on the glass. Aroma is light fruits and caramel with some intense grain presence. Taste is a grapefruit and herbal hop bitterness with a fruity and grainy malt sweetness. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Very smooth and easy to drink despite its higher ABV. Well done and recommended.

Pours a clear deep copper with an average white head and a touch of lace. Aroma is rich maltiness, dark fruits, dates, prunes, light licorice, and a marshmallow like sweetness(yes I got this from the description but Damn I can’t get it out of my head seeing as its the perfect description here!). Flavour is rich maltiness, leather, mild-medium bitterness, dark fruits, rasins, grapes, dates, a medium sweetness, and some alcohol. Wow I’m impressed and damn they do a good description of this on the main page!

Pours a ear dark amber color with minimal white head and no lace... Which is common for high abv beers. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, pine and some citrus hops. Taste is caramel, sweet malts, honey, pine, spruce and a well balanced bitterness on the finish. Great imperial amber that compliments the original recipe... Could drink this all night as is so well balanced.

Loved this. Sweet malty and bubblegum aromas and flavors. Very malt forward with enough bitterness to keep it balanced. This is fantastic.

Light amber body nice lacing. Hoppy aroma. Initially a hoppy bitter taste followed by barley wine esque sweetness and booze. Really nice. My favourite from the Anderson Valley tap takeover at Barley Brothers, Winnipeg.

The aroma is caramel, brown sugar. The appearance is clear deep amber, white head. The flavor is bread, caramel, fruit, very nice. Medium in body, slightly thick. The finish is sweet, light pine. Pretty nice.
