On tap at Tyler’s, Durham. Cloudy straw gold pour with a nice frothy carbonation. Dry grassy aroma with a little bloom of fruit in there. Mouthfeel is medium, slightly prickly with a dry finish. Flavors aren’t quite what you’d like them to be, with both malt and hop profiles relatively muted in favor of a singular grassy dry note. Pleasant enough for what it is, I suppose, but I’d hoped for more character. HughConway (831) - Washington, USA - APR 19, 2011
Tap. Pours amber orange, whitish head. Citrus aroma, bitter and citrus taste. Not much of a body, bit thin for everything. Tmoney99 (14747) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 11, 2011
Growler shared by shigadeyo. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was was lasting with good lacing. Moderate spruce hop and yeast aroma. Medium body with a dry slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where exceeded.

Draft.. clear light amber with a nice white head... light hoppy aroma, kinda bland... light pine, some very light citrus, toasty... fairly watery... given the abv and purpose, this is a good english pale, hoped for a little more pungent aroma/flavor from AV...

On tap. Pours with a clear golden-yellow body and a thick white head of tan foam. Good retention. Aromas are bready, candied pear, currants, toffee, straw, raisins, esters. Fruity and slightly earthy hop blend. Flavors are bitter, earthy, spicy even dirty. Raw grain. Trace notes of diacetyl. Lively, dry and lightly astringent. This easy-drinkin’ session brew pours golden in color with good clarity and a half-inch of bubbly, off-white head that settles to a thin, but full layer. Aromas are toasty, tea-like, and slightly buttery, with some stone fruit in the background. The medium-sweet, somewhat grainy malt is nicely balanced by lightly bitter hop flavors of tea and orange citrus rind, with a summer and stone fruitiness not too far in the background. The body is light-medium in weight, the carbonation is medium-plus, and the mouthfeel is dry and slightly tannic like tea. A ring of lace at the top of glass with patchy spots below. This isn’t a brash beer with big flavors, but it’s tasty, well balanced, and pleasant to drink.
Clear yellow with a fizzy white head. Dry bready aroma and taste with a strong perfumey hops presence. blipp (9501) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAR 11, 2011
Draft. Pours gold with a white head. The aroma has sweet malts and fruity floral hops. The flavor has toasted malts, a hint of sweetness, and floral hops, with a lightly bitter finish. Not bad. JohnnyJ (5570) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 11, 2011
Draft at PP Carlsbad. Clear golden pour, slightly red, with white head. Biscuity malt, citrus, lightly bitter hops, and a touch of sweetness. Not much going on here, but it is quite tasty and drinkable for low abv. Not bad.
