22 oz bottle. Goodness this is dark stuff. Held it up to a very dark light. Black. Very black. Great brown head. Nice creamy feel and you are hit in the nose by deep malt odors, mediium hops, and chocolate. The very smooth feel and low carbonation makes this slide down like a good cup of expresso. Overall, a very good brew.

Pouring a near black, dark brown color with a brown head, this baby has an aroma of overbaked oatmeal cookies with dark chocolate chips in them... and I meant that in a good way, a nicy roasty way. Very smooth in the mouth, theres a flavor of roasted malts and burnt chocolate with a hint of hops that comes through mainly in the finish. Very nice.

Pretty good oatmeal stout. If I remember correctly this is relatively cheap. Got it in Cali at some gourmet foods store that had beers from around the world. Why I picked this one out of the other 10 or so is beyond me.

This beer poured a darker color with a tan head. It had a pleasantly earthy aroma and a complex flavor of oats and chocolate that was well balanced with hops. It is a good brew.

Light aroma. Poured completely opaque. Tan head that faded half way through tht glass. The flavor is slightly sweet with a nice hppy finish. Tasted of espresso. Mouthfeel was smooth. Moderate carbonation. Outstanding.

Medium-thick, opaque black; brown, fading head; almost no lacing. Smells of chocolate and vanilla. Flavor is nice and mellow; not overhopped like so many stouts; sweet, lightly chocolatey and roasty; vanilla. Medium-thick. A very drinkable stout; doesnt particularly stand out in any department, but its solid in all aspects.

Finally getting around to trying this one. Pours perfectly black, no light making its way through. A thin head that is a light orange and brown color tops the black body. The aroma is massive with vanilla, apples and some dark bread. The taste is slightly sweet with some bread, rye and vanilla. There is also an earthy note of flowers. There is not as much sweetness as I would have suspected. Nicely done.

2004 bottle. Pours a thick, brown and auburn body, lots of black coloring in there with a large, well-retained, oatmeal colored head. Plenty of sediment on the bottom. Good oaty, creamy, buttery, roasty aroma. Clean yeast and light hops freshness to cut the malt sweetness. Flavor is clean and roasty, with more oat grittiness and light fruitiness. Honey cream and light alpha-hops bitterness. The body really shines the brightest, I think. Smooth, low carbonation, almost a chalky texture from the low filtration and unpasteurised nature of the beer. Oats give a fabulous mouthfeel as always. Not too much of anything, well-balanced and well-made as always from these guys.

Dark dark brown, tan fizzy head that turns into a creamy ring. Initial aroma is roasted bready chocolate. Coffee hints as well. Flavor is well developed and rich, though the mouthfeel is slightly watery. Flavor has creamy chocolate, vanilla, grape, with a coffee finish. Pretty good stuff, just wish there was more oomph in it.
