With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.

Almost black with a short lived light brown head. Roasted malt and coffee nose. Rich bubbly mouthfeel. Nice oatmeal profile with hints of chocolate , coffee and unfortunatley...celery or something similar. Not a bad drink though, smooth and drinkable. Could use more work. Does get more enjoyable as it warms.

Yep, it's an oatmeal stout alright!.....................................

Quite roasty, with liquorice and raisiny flavors as well as a sweetish finish. This is a very crisp stout.

This beer can be very good, but more often than not, it is not good, in my experience. Up until about 3 years ago, Barney Flats in 22oz. bottles was a nicely flavored oatmeal stout, with a pleasant nose, good mouth feel, and a slightly sweet ,roasty taste. Now it tastes and smells like vinegar most of the time. What happened? I don't know, but if they fixed it, I would rate this brew much higher.

Very dark, but not overwhelming. Quite sweet with lots of caramel. Well carbonated with more hops presence than I would otherwise expect for this beer.

Smelled weird, i dont know exactly what but it wasnt right. Head faded faster than the Phillies from the pennant race. Watery, thin, weak chocolate flavor masked by a light hop bitterness.

Quick head, thick brown color to head and body. It doesn't taste as bad as it smells. But it has and odd chocolate/vegetabletaste. Definately needs something else in the taste department.

Hops and celery salt dominate the aroma. Mocha and hops flavoring, with a chocolate and celery aftertaste. Seems incomplete.

Somewhat light roasty malt aroma. Seemingly adequate carbonation for an oatmeal stout. Exceedingly dark opaque color. Rather light in body, but has some pleasant enough coffeeish oatmeal and malt flavors intermingling. It's almost like a porter... Aftertaste is also rather surprisingly thin, but not bad. This stout is not a big beer. I do like it okay, though.

An above average oatmeal stout, not quite as smooth as some of my favorites but a decent malt flavor followed by medium bitterness. Could use a little bit more hop balance, the malt flavor quickly disappears.
