With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.

Very dark colour with a clear brown head. Aroma is mostly roasted malts, maybe some hops as well. Taste is pretty much the same, with hints of coffe and chocolate at the end...subtle. No significant alcohol presence, very easy t drink. Pleasant.

Not an overly heavy stout. Dark brown, a little sweetness on the finish. Good one.

Bottled. Pours your regular stout colour with decent tan head. Aroma: citrus hop front, further roasted, chocolate, minor coffee, dried fruit. Light body. Medium dry taste. Smooth roastiness, oat, chocolate, hops. Light to medium bitterness. Fine stout.

From Mar 2008 I got this in a trade with Wasatch. Thanks John! It pours a very dark brown with a 2 finger head of tannish foam and some nice lacing; head retention is good. The smell is of roasted malt and chocolate which gives it a slightly sweet nose. The taste has notes of roasted malt, some coffee, and a bit of chocolate. Nice medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation and it finishes with some hot cocoa bitterness. Nice and tasty, easy to drink...one of the better examples of the style that I've tried. I'd have no problem drinking a couple or 3 at a session. Good stuff!

Nice aroma with cola notes, toasted bread, subtle fruitiness, sweet chocolate. Taste is not that great, some subtle roastiness, toasted black bread, espresso, slight bitterness. Taste is a bit watery and light, but leaves you wanting more to happen. It's okay.

UPDATED: SEP 18, 2017 Barmey Flats takes oatmeal to new heights. Wonderful blend of smoothness and chewyness that goes down easy and makes you eish all breakfast staples could be used to make stout so drinkably edible.

A bottle from the basement of 101. Aroma: raisins, liquorice. Appearance: cola, attractive tan head dissipates to nothing. Palate: medium-bodied and slick, average carbonation. Long and complex finish. Taste: extremely well-balanced medium sweet and bitter. Coffee, chocolate, vanilla, a little bit of discordant ashtray right at the end.

W aromacie pyszne owsiane ciasteczka. W tle majaczy kakao. W smaku są przecudowne owsiane ciasteczka oblane czekoladą.

Love the taste. The aroma sort of ruined it a little. Not a strong smell for a stout at all. But wonderful taste and look to the beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
