With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.

Pale Two-Row, Crystal (40L & 80L), Roasted Barley, Munich, Chocolate, Oats

Can from harvest. Black pour and froth brown head. Malt stouty nose. Full bodied and well balanced. Would drink again. ---Rated via my mouth

Bit more cocoa flakes than usual, roast, low bod - fairly light and thin but I reckon that’s par for the course for an OS, bread in the aroma, although felt rather lightly. Unobtrusive, but solid

2015 BJCP Category: 16B Oatmeal Stout

AROMA: Moderately strong fruity aroma (e.g. raisins, red fruits). Moderately coffee & vanilla presence. Faint diacetyl; possible oxidation - but these characteristics are not distracting. 9/12

APPEARANCE: Seemingly opaque black with clear garnet highlights. Large tan frothy foam mostly dissipates. 2/3

FLAVOR: Mild palette initially. Subdued notes of fruit. Becomes quite bitter at the apex with coffee and roasted malt flavor. Finishes rather sweet with genuine oatmeal taste. Leaves a tobacco/roasted coffee aftertaste. Minor presence of oxidation. No distinctive hop flavor or bitterness. 12/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body and carbonation. Very smooth and comfortable, but feels slightly watery. Seems much more sessionable strength than 5.8% ABV. 3/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: A valiant effort for the style, but comes up a bit short. It is at least satisfactory. 6/10

Piana bardzo wysoka, drobna, beżowa. Zapach słodki, waniliowy, rodzynki, susoszna śliwka, lekko kwaskowaty. W smaku gładkie, pełne, gęste. Lekko kwaskowate od słodów palonych. Trochę wanilli. Goryczka nieduża ale wyczuwalna. Bardzo dobrze ułożone.

Pours black with very low carbonation, small tan head that vanished after 10 seconds. No lacing. Aroma of roasted barley and red wine (!). Tastes well roasted barley, oats, slightly tart, dark fruits, medium bitter towards the finish. Light body, thin feel, flat, long finish. An average stouts, tastes actually good but it’s too thin and watery.

Dunkel, wenig Schaum. In der Nase Röstaroma. Im Trunk Kaffee, cremig, süß, süffig. Hinten nur etwas bitter. Schönes Sommerstout.

Bottle. Aroma: caramel, chocolate, coffee, toast, dough, vanilla. App: black, minimal tan head. Taste: surprisingly sweet, almost sour in its bite, a bit of coffee and chocolate. Palate: medium-full feel, fairly long finish. Overall: A bit odd for a stout, good, but different.

355ml bottle: Pours a jet black with thick Brown head that persists. Aroma of dark chocolate, prunes and raisins. Medium to full bodied, slick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Overall a very pleasant and drinkable stout.

Smooth stout with a thin brown head. Pleasant but not overwhelming. Very drinkable.

Deliciosa.
