Draft at the Handlebar. Dark amber with small creamy head. Woody, savory aroma. Taste is sweet and savory, some malty notes. A bit of a spicy finish. Fragrant and flavorful. IndianaRed (5119) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 29, 2017
Light haze on this amber pour. Thin wispy tan head and lacing Mild woody malts in the standard amber aroma, dry woody and sharp rye-like bite in the flavors. The basil comes though pretty big but in a soapy grassy way. drjoeng (1461) - SINGAPORE - AUG 21, 2016
Tapped out dark gold. 8ºSRM.
Nose is actually nutty for me. There are roasted chestnuts. A bit of spice on the nose but more along the lines of dried spices maybe like bay or tarragon. Some sweet ester-like aromas.
Mouthfeel is soapy. Palate has toasted sweet malt with honey, toasted Graham cracker, roasted oats, barley bread toast. Hops are spicy and citrus with lemon zest and some light cilantro and maybe Thai basil, but it’s the malts that keep me guessing with some nice broad solid rice flour flavors suggesting rice balls and senbei (Japanese rice crackers).
Finish is medium. Solid bitter with lemon zest zing with a light citrus oil tingle.

Basil. Wow. It actually tastes good in an IPA surprisingly. Fruity and bitter besides that. Balances well. I like swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JAN 31, 2015

On tap at Capones 2013 Black Friday event. Ruby light amber with a cream head. Refreshing floral hop and basil aroma, chewy, buttery, pesto finish, moderate carbonation and body, quite enjoyable. Theydon_Bois (21416) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - DEC 18, 2013
Tap (gravity dispense?) at Capones Black Friday Bash, Norristown PA, 29/11/13.
Hazed dark amber with a good sized eggshell white head.
Nose is floral hops, herbal, pasta sauce, basil, fruit notes.
Taste comprises hops, orange pith, grapefruit, lgiht pine, caramel malt, faint basil.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, subtle hop bitterness and grassy finale with light herbal notes.
Decent stuff, I was surprised, the basil is all in the aroma, the taste is more akin to an IPA with light herbal leanings. Sledutah (7971) - Utah, USA - OCT 14, 2013
On tap at Falling Rock, GABF 2013 weekend jnkor (477) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - SEP 30, 2013
Clear amber with a medium sized white head and good lacing. Aroma of basil and floral. Flavors of basil, floral and herbal
Aroma is thick with basil. Appearance is like an IPA, but with the small bubbles carbonation that indicates nitrogen. Luckily aroma is not "freezer burnt", probably because of basil. Taste is sweet and full of basil and hop, true to word. Palate is dry and hopped, and bitter like an ipa.
