A really good ESB. A lot of flavor. A little sweet with a nice fruty hop flavor at the end. I really enjoy this beer happy4hops (376) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - MAY 29, 2003
However, I have encountered over-carbonation on two different occasions when purchased at the store.
UPDATED: APR 20, 2004 Pretty nice ESB.Hazy deep gold(some random sediment) with a sweet head that sticks around throughout/great lace glaze. After having 3 or 4 i've realized this beer rocks.Mellow spicy citris(grapefruit)bitter on the tounge.Lots of smooth carbonation.Malty sweet & nicely bitter.Solid 6.8%.Anderson beers have a honey overtone that works for some of there brews and not for others. All in all if you like really well made malty/hoppy West coast beer.Go for it. slightly cloudy orange in color with an impressive creamy looking head..fruity hop aroma with notes of mango and pineapple..light fruity hop flavors with a few touches of malt sweetness riding alongside..metallic at times..but refreshing. Ernest (7864) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 18, 2003
Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium amber, moderate density of tiny/small/medium particles. Aroma is lightly malty (cookie, caramel), lightly hoppy (flowers), lightly yeasty (dough), with a hint of orange. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly astringent. This is like a more citric version of the Amber.

Hazy orange. Frothy, lasting head. Doughy, yeasty nose carries into the flavor nicely. Great mouthfeel. Rather hoppy, slightly spicy, earthy, grassy, and slightly citrusy. Bitter finish, but not overly bitter by any means. Nicely balanced and full of flavor. Good beer. Easily quaffable. 21iceman40 (1735) - Grafton, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 9, 2003
Consumed By Mike at the Liar's Club on the night of May 8th in a pint glass, served by unknown waitress well, besides all that, this was a very nice bitterish slightly hoppy brew with a nice golden color, nothing stands out, but shit, it was a good esb. nothing wrong with just being plain good. Golden color with a nice white head. Looks very carbonated. Smells fruity. Taste sweet carmel and hops. Bitter and drying at the back of the tongue. Head sticks to glass throughout drink. erway (1004) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - APR 27, 2003
One of my favorite ESB's. I'm surprised at it's relatively low rating. Very well balnced. Could drink a six pack by myself! microdyke (360) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 27, 2003
A golden color with a full head. An aroma of citrus, hops and fruit. Hops hit you right up front followed by grapefruit. A nice carbonation and a smooth dry finish.
