That’s a damn nice porter. Pours deep brown with a thin cappuccino head and some clings. Lovely mocha aroma with some vanilla. Nutty, chocolate, caramel in the taste with a lingering coffee finish. Lubiere (14124) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 4, 2010
A reddish brown porter with a thin light moka head. A sweet funky chocolate malt aroma, nuttella notes, a bit of mashed peas. In mouth, a caramelly chocolate with very nutty notes, oily mouthfeel, medium bodied. On tap at J. Ryans, August 29, 2010. BarossaLuke (552) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 1, 2010
A good porter, not as rich as I was expecting, but good none the less. Enjoyed this one with GMK and Brenton at the Wheaty for the SABSOSA presentation. Boliv (1150) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 28, 2010
Bomber. Pours super dark, garnet red along the edges but otherwise brown and opaque, with a large foamy brown head. Aromas of milk and dark chocolates, coffee, molasses, toffee, a little alcohol, and oak and vanilla. Flavor is roasty cocoa and espresso, cane sugar, a touch of vanilla, and bitter coffee in the finish. Pretty high carbonation, with a dry finish. Good beer with a nice roasted quality; this could be better, but it’s too carbonated for the style, for me.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown, almost black, with a tall creamy attractive and lacing khaki head. Deliciously inviting aroma thats very solid and on style. Notes of vanilla, licorice, chocolate, roasted malt, and coffee. The flavor is very nice as well. It is similar to the aroma with a bit of a dark fruit quality to it. Medium dry roasty finish. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Overall: this beer is just spot on. So balanced, so perfectly to style. Its simple and yet still complex. Just an outstanding example of a porter. This will be joining SN Porter as my go to, simple perfect porter. JaBier (8126) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - SEP 8, 2010
Sample at the tasting room on 8/9/10. Pours darkest brown with a thick tan head. Chocolate aroma with hints of roast and sweet licorice. Sweet chocolate flavor with some bitter roasted malt and licorice on the back end. Rustyham (1836) - St. Petersburg, Florida, USA - SEP 6, 2010
Deep brown to black color, semi-translucent. Aroma of brown sugar and sun-dried tomatoes. Flavor is sun-dried tomato and pizza, but very subdued and drinkable. Interesting brown to say the least. Bottle from Barrios at the PreLabor Day Beer Tasting. ScottyP (425) - Brentwood, Tennessee, USA - SEP 5, 2010
Pours is brown with light tan head. Aroma of malt, vanilla, chocolate, hint of licorice, Similar taste, but more bready. A bit thin compared to the aroma. Guess I’ve had too many imperials tonight to give this its due credit. MmmcKay (1052) - Brentwood, Tennessee, USA - SEP 5, 2010
Pours dark brown with some nice lacing. Very mild on the palate. Could totally drink this with some meat pizza. Lighter in body than I would have expected from the nose. Not such a bad thing though. It was pretty easy drinking. Tobacco, chocolate, and coffee. Mocha dessert.
