Pours a very dark chocolate/chestnut brown color with amber edges when held to a light source and a frothy 1.5 finger tan head that slowly fades into a thin ring. Minimal lacing.
Deep roasty aroma with hints of chocolate malt, roasted coffee bean, toffee, caramel, hazelnut and toast.
Overly carbonated up front, biting the tongue followed by a slightly roasty, creamy chocolate malt center and a bitter earthy dry finish. Hints of roasted coffee, toffee, oatmeal, milk chocolate and dry earthy hops. Kind of sweet mid palate with a dry bitter finish. J_man (996) - Tustin, California, USA - MAY 7, 2010
Dark brown ruby-tinged ale with a fluffy tan head. This is a traditional English style porter, so it’s not a stout calling itself a porter. Bitter chocolate and cream with a little charred malt sourness at the finish. Nice porter that goes well with food. rmussman (1701) - California, USA - APR 29, 2010
Really quality porter. Packed full of great malts and subtle hopping. Pour deep dark brown. Drinks really nice with really full flavor. Excellent brew. The marts are really amazing and rich. highibus (821) - Vail, Arizona, USA - APR 23, 2010
Pours deep black with tab head. Not much aroma. Good roasty flavor with a bit of toast on finish. Pretty standard porter but nice and drinkable. radagast83 (8065) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - APR 23, 2010
22oz bottle. Aroma is a bold, rich one of chocolates, a touch of coffee. Flavor is creamy, rich. Smooth mouthfeel. Appreciate the lower alcohol content. Pretty fantastic!

Big dark porter with tons of dark chocolate flavors. This was a tasty brew. I loved the finish this was and is going to be a sought after brew from now on for me. oldrtybastrd (5002) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 7, 2010
Pours a deep dark brown color. Aromas of chocolate, coffee and a hint of hops. Flavor light chocolate, coffee, and a touch of tobacco. Medium body with a smooth dry finish. zizzybalubba (1869) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - APR 3, 2010
22 oz. bottle from Grape & Gourmet. Dark brown pour with a creamy tan head. Aroma of floral hops and faint roasted malt. Taste is better; smoky malt, bitter chocolate, a hint of coffee. Light and sessionalbe for a porter but really not bad at all. robforbes (2243) - Bremerton, Washington, USA - APR 2, 2010
