22 oz bottle, dark black in color, nice lasting creamy off-white head that leaves a sticky lacing in my glass, roasty chocolate-coffee aromas. Roasted burnt chocolate coffee flavors, nice bitter-sweet flavors, good roasted bitterness in the finish. Medium body with a full and creamy mouthfeel, good stuff.

Lovely dark dark brown color, low head. Toasted grain tastes with some coffee and chocolately notes. Dry woody end. Not so sweet - more smokey and bitter. Medium body. No one this stands out here, but the balance is just great. Excellent porter. michael-pollack (4959) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 16, 2006
22oz Bottle: Smells of chocolate, smoke, a little black cherry, and some toffee. Smells sweet and bitter. Hard to discern hop or malt aroma. Smells good. Poured dark brown and opaque. Can’t see if it is sparkling or not. Huge rocky head that starts brown and ends beige. Head tastes of cream, dark choclate, and smoke. Head is dry and has a dark chotlate finish. Flavor is of dark chocolate, with cream. Also roast and smoke flavors. Moderatly sweet and bitter. Very well balanced. Medium and body. Texture is sticky and dry. Average carbonation. Long sweet dry finish that tastes like dark chocolate. Overall, a very nice Porter. Cletus (6368) - Connecticut, USA - SEP 19, 2008
Pours dark borwn with a nice tan head. Smells of chocolate, earthy, some roasted malt. Tastes chocolatey and spicy with some with some nice roasted pepper hints. Very enjoyable. rmussman (1701) - California, USA - APR 29, 2010
Really quality porter. Packed full of great malts and subtle hopping. Pour deep dark brown. Drinks really nice with really full flavor. Excellent brew. The marts are really amazing and rich.

That’s a damn nice porter. Pours deep brown with a thin cappuccino head and some clings. Lovely mocha aroma with some vanilla. Nutty, chocolate, caramel in the taste with a lingering coffee finish. mkobes (2142) - paramus, New Jersey, USA - JUN 29, 2005
220z bomber. Deep dark brown in color with a tan head. Malty and roasty aroma. Coffee like. Chocolate and caramel notes. Full bodied. Malty and roasty flavor with some hops in the nose. . Finish is malty roasty. Well balanced. Drinkable. irishsnake (355) - Oakland, California, USA - JUL 25, 2005
beer pours a very dark brown that glows a deep red when held up to the light. big puffy brown head that retains and laces well. nose is a good mixture of sweet maltiness and a rich, chocolatey roastiness. flavor is nice and roasty/malty, without and dry-roasted astringency. very easy and fun to drink. this is a really good porter, with a nice complexity of sweet-roasted malts, and a nice little hop bight in the finish (Northern Brewer?)

On draft at KClingers: This poured a dark, deep black with a thin tan head. Smooth and slightly licorice-laced drinker. Not much of an aroma, but the flavor presents nice profiles of plum and a chalky roastiness. I’d love for this to have a heavier mouthfeel, but this is a darn good session beer for a cold night. Bottle pours a deep inky black with a constant tan head. Spotty lacing. Nice big chocolate aroma. Lightly smokey and coffee in the flavor with plenty of chocolate here as well. Moderate palatte but softly carbonated and smooth.
