Can. Orange pour with some head. Pumpkin, spice and nutmeg aromas. Flavor is spice, nutmeg and light vanilla. skortila (5820) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - MAR 6, 2015
Bottled. The aroma has caramel, ginger, pumpkin, raisin. Dark brown, bit reddish coloured beer with an off-white-beige, thin head. The taste is sweet, has lots of spice, caramel. Quite some body for a 6% ABV beer. Bit sticky mouthfeel. Normally I am not a big fan of these kinds of beer but well I enjoyed it. GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 4, 2015

>> Thank you Victor- pours low haze red amber with dwindling beige foam, no retention. Nose is fall leaves, perfume, potpourri, gummy candy. Taste is a bit watery/thin, powdery, dusty, with more fall leaves and earthy flavor than anything pumpkin. Definitely a fall beer, probably not super fresh, but fun to try.

American pumpkin ale - a style I only recently learned to appreciate - with yellowish light beige, creamy, nicely lacing head and dark brownish purple colour, like an old red wine. Perfumey aroma makes me happy immediately: pleasant and a bit frivolous, with impressions of cloves, milk chocolate bars, butterscotch, pumpkin pie, toast, hazelnut oil, dried ginger, cinnamon, mango. Fruity, crisp onset with medium carbonation, sweetish but rapidly turning spicy, cloves and ginger abounding and stretching till deep into the finish, with a drying, even somewhat sharp effect; in between, a sweet, toasted, nutty and caramelly maltiness reigns, soft and slick, bready. Finish encompasses not only the drying, resinous spiciness, but also a good deal of peppery hop bitterness, as well as a hint of warming alcohol. Wish I had this in autumn... Based on the aroma, I expected a sweeter and much less bitter taste, but once you get used to its spicy sharpishness and unexpected hop bitterness, this becomes quite agreeable and characterful. Very pleasant little beer!

Poured from a can into an Anderson Valley tumbler on 11.07.14.
A: Pumpkin, spice, and brown sugar.
A: 2 finger off-white head that is retained. Brown/red body that is mostly opaque. It looks like an amber ale.
T: Cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar dominate. Pumpkin is subtle.
P: Creamy with a crisp back end. Itís on the watery side but itís refreshing.
O: This is what other breweries should emulate for a pumpkin ale that isnít in your face with pumpkin flavor. Pumpkin is there, but itís in the background. Each spice that is commonly found in pumpkin pie is also detectable here unlike other pumpkin ales that try to hold back the pumpkin flavor, but end up being jumbled messes. micahmarieaz (5) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JAN 13, 2015 does not count
My favorite part of this beer was the subtle taste of Bourbon Whiskey that lingered after each sip.
