Sampled on tap at PIB, pours a dark reddish amber with a small beige head. Aroma of sour barrels taking over the roasted notes of the stout, though it’s feintly recognizable as being a stout-based. Flavour of sour notes, masking the roasted and chocolate notes. Not much else to describe it with. Solid rendition but it doesn’t strike me as a stout or a warranted thing to do to a stout. Good for what it is though. bhensonb (15194) - Woodland, California, USA - MAR 24, 2016

"A bit of an odd duck. Definitely well balanced between sour.funky and smooth chocolatey stout. The combo was interesting, but didn’t quite work for me as the best ones have (thinking Tart of Darkness or J pumpkin). Molasses sweetness, roasted malts, lemony pucker and a hint o cheese. A work in progress, perhaps, that i’d get again." DocLock (10683) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 23, 2012
