COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This sour ale is produced by aging our Horn Of The Beer Barleywine in Wild Turkey bourbon barrels for extended periods of time (up to 2 years.) The aroma is reminiscent of earthy red wines with a background of caramel and honey and just a hint of wood and sourness. The flavor is intensely sour with a touch of acetic acid and notes of brown malt, toast, and ripe red fruit. The bourbon character adds a savory, woody component that yields subtle notes of coconut and vanilla.

Bomber, 2016 vintage. Tart cherry aroma with notes of lacto, dark fruit, caramel, bourbon and vanilla. Pours dark caramel brown colored with a thin tan head that has some retention and decent lacing. Starts with tart cherry, dry red wine, dark fruit and lacto sourness to go with a medium body and vinous mouthfeel. Finishes dry and smooth with some caramel, bourbon and a little bit of vanilla with the ripe fruity tartness lingering throughout. Pretty interesting and quite good.

Pouring at EBF 2014. Pours a clear brown with a thin tan head. Fruity and funky, sweet oxidized fruit. Large tart and funky, with big warm boozy notes. Chewy malt and tart funk. Big old fruit lingering full of acid.

Location: Draft at ChurchKey, 11/1/14

Aroma: Sour aroma, has some fruit, and a bit of wood
Appearance: The pour is murky reddish-brown with a small head
Flavor: The flavor is along the same lines, spur and fruity, wood notes
Palate: Medium bodied, slight heat, a little funky on the finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a solid one. Pretty nice example of the style. Worth trying for sure.

Draft. Hazed brown. Huge american barley wine though the hops are tempered by the Bourbon. Heavy caramel and vanilla, dry oak, finishing tartness that is balamicy but not over the top.

4oz pour at Churchkeys Night of the Living Ales 2014. Pours a clear caramel amber with loads of creamy, lacing white head. Nose has some rubber, cherry, wood pulp, a little herbal. Flavor is acetic, some candy though too, mild berry, grape, wood pulp, slightly vegetal, some apple notes as well. Tart, hot finish. Not my thing.

Draft at Churchkey. Clear maroon color, tan head. Decent aroma of plums and prunes. Taste is an odd combo of bitter and sour that didnt work for me, although others in our group liked it.
