COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Robust. Brewed with a “heelch” (that means “a lot” in Boontling) of Columbus, Chinook, and Cascade hops, our double IPA has a palate pleasing bitterness that is artfully balanced with a full-bodied malt foundation. With a deep color of polished brass and a nose that sings of pink grapefruit and redwood needles, the rich biscuit-like malt flavors are intertwined with hints of vanilla, mangoes, and peppercorns leading to a deep, warming finish.

MALTS:
Pale Two-Row, Victory

HOPS:
Columbus, Chinook, Cascade

Pours a cloudy golden amber on tap at Nik’s Wunderbar. Expected more aroma, taste is bitter as expected. Something off in the balance, keg was just tapped hours ago so I know it’s fresh. Good, but not outstanding.

Pours a tick orange color with a nice white head. The smell is amazing on this one. Big resiny, piney hops, alcohol, and thick sweet malts. The taste is nicely balanced between bitterness and malt. There’s unfortunately a weird metallic thing I keep tasting every sip. This is pretty big IPA and it’s a good one but the I’m not enjoying the hop flavor which seems to be imparting a bit of a metallic twinge to the beer.

Huge foam, stays in glass. Bright copper color. Big sweet hoppy aroma, but a little dull. Full-bodied taste. Nice after-taste, doesn’t have the common bitterness of DIPAs. Really good.

Bomber. I am glad to see this get a nice score. While typing in the name in the search I feared this would rate low because it’s reasonably priced, doesn’t break the 10% abv barrier, isn’t a special release and isn’t from one of these places that fan boys drool over with gimmicky hop choices . In fact, this is a straight forward DIPA and it’s what you want. Balanced, hoppy, little heat and very drinkable. Good stuff. Suck it, fanboy.

12 fl oz bottle from Potsdam, served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear deep golden with a nice off-white head. Aroma: Quite sweet and fruity, lots of tropical fruits, peaches and apricots, a little peppery/spicy/resinous, sweet, crunchy caramel maltiness, quite likeable. Palate: Medium+ body, fairly full carbonation. Flav.: A lot of rich tropical fruits, somewhat peppery, darker and more severe than the nose, rich caramel and dark bread crust malt, some alcohol, citrus oil, resin, quite big; dry with good bitterness, alcohol warmth and a long, toffee and tropical fruit finish.

Strange name, nice DIPA.

Bottle from AmmersinO, Vienna. Clear, amber body, with big, frothy, whire head. Aroma of citrus, tangerine, apricot, pine, butterscotch, honey, biscuit, grass. Taste with about the same aromas, good balance between bitter and sweet. Mouthfeel is medium, oily, with a medium carbonation and it finishes bitter, dry, with lemon zest, pine, grass and candy. Seems a bit like a slightly stronger version of their Hop Ottin IPA, but less complex. The hop aromas are nice, although I’m missing some more fruit explosion for a DIPA, the malt notes are a bit flat. Overall decent, but nothing special.

Cervesa molt equilibrada, tot i tractar-se d’una imperial IPA no és exageradament amarga. Cerveza muy equilibrada, aun que por tratarse de una imperial IPA no es exageradamente amarga.

2014.04 - fles 12 oz. - helder koperkleurig bier, kleine verdwijnende beige schuimkraag - neus : gemaaid gras, citrus, caramel - mond : smaakt zacht, caramel, citrus, gematigde bitterheid die blijft hangen

Bottle-Poured golden color with medium off/white head. Aroma-pine, banana, butterscotch and yeasty/bread. Taste-Dandelion, butterscotch, pine and apricot. Pretty nice tasting beer with this smooth creamy palate. Mouthfeel is medium/heavy and is not overly bitter. For having 100ibu’s it seems more like a regular IPA. Overall-I enjoyed this beer, not crazy good but not bad either.
