COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Robust. Brewed with a “heelch” (that means “a lot” in Boontling) of Columbus, Chinook, and Cascade hops, our double IPA has a palate pleasing bitterness that is artfully balanced with a full-bodied malt foundation. With a deep color of polished brass and a nose that sings of pink grapefruit and redwood needles, the rich biscuit-like malt flavors are intertwined with hints of vanilla, mangoes, and peppercorns leading to a deep, warming finish.

MALTS:
Pale Two-Row, Victory

HOPS:
Columbus, Chinook, Cascade

Tried on tap at The Roast House Frederick, Md. Thin head, pours dark golden color. Aroma of hops, malt, pine. Nice and hoppy. Slightly crisp mouthfeel. Hops, pine malt, nice lingering finish with a very slight bitterness. Not my favorite ipa by any means but pretty solid as far as hoppy ipas go

Plenty of malty notes in the nose and taste, something a bit heavier than standard caramel. Rich. Nose also has pine and a touch of citrus. Palate is balanced, like an APA, finishes slightly dry.

Visual: Pours orangish-brown with a very small head, half-sticky lacing, thin big island retention, steady singular streams Nose: sweet whiskey’d alcoholic barley malt. (lvl-4)-pungency Attack: fine-creamy full CO2, incoming heavy malt Mid-palate: (lvl-6-sweetness), biscuity-toffee malts, tangy orange/grapefruit citrus, alcohol heavy Finish: grassy woody bitter hops, residual alcoholic barley malt sweet, palate numbing bitter. Summary: Good bold biscuity malt flavour backed by significant citrus hopped bitterness. It drinks quite alcoholic heavy, not the smoothest DIPA that I’ve had.

PowY (908) - AUSTRIA - JUN 24, 2016
UPDATED: JAN 20, 2017 355 ml bottle. Pours light copper with an off-white head. The aroma is moderately hoppy (flowers and citric fruits) with distinct malty notes of cookies and raisins. Medium to full body with oily texture and soft carbonation. The flavor starts pretty sweet with a primary bitterness that increases towards the finish. Hints of smoke caramel and the taste of honey, that maybe lingers a bit to long, along with ripe mangos and grapes and overripe apples and pears.

From a 355ml bottle on 20//2016. Pours a murky golden with a medium head. Has a lovely aroma which is equally malty and hoppy, with lots of citrus and some floral notes. Taste wise, this is big from the get go, with sweet caramel and biscuity malt, lots of sweet citrus and stone fruit (orange, apricot). Finishes with a big, satisfying hops, with pine, resin and grapefruit all in the mix. The texture is slick, with average carbonation. Exhibits sensational malt/hop, sweet/bitter balance. Complex, chewy and delicious. An absolutely top flight DIPA. I can’t believe the comparatively modest score it has on here. Outstanding.
