COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop-Heads, your dreams have come true! Hop Ottin’ is Boontling for "hardworking hops," and they’re surely hard at work in this brew. Hop Ottin’ starts with a strong floral aroma, which winds into a deep and complex body. In an intriguing balance, honey-drenched malts coat rich hop undertones. At length, the hops prevail, with a satisfyingly crisp finish. Hop Ottin’ bites like a cankicky bluetail (Hop Ottin’ bites like a rattlesnake looking for a fight.)

MALTS:
Pale Two-Row, Crystal (40L), Munich (20L)

12 oz bottle, pours a orangish copper color with a thick fluffy white head that leaves good lacing. Smells of pine, citrus and caramel. Tastes of all the same thing’s in the smell with a slight honey flavor and a good hop bite in the back end. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with great carbonation. Overall this is one of the best balanced ipas I’ve had. As far as flavor goes it is pretty average.

From Feb 2008 I got this bottle in a trade with Wasatch. Thanks John! As a preface, I've had this one before I started reviewing. I'm glad I got a chance to revisit. It pours from 12oz bottle a clear medium gold and a 1 finger head of foam. The smell is nice mix of caramel malt and hops. The taste on first sip has both caramel malt and hops at the forefront with the hops being mostly floral and quite bitter. Further sips in and the hops take over giving my mouth a nice bitter embrace but the malt isn't exactly overwhelmed; it's always there providing a good balance and makes this IPA very drinkable. The mouthfeel is medium and it finishes with some citrus bitterness. I've always liked this brew and I'd have it again anytime I can get the chance.

Bottled about ten months ago. Clear amber pour. Well-lacing off-white head. Aroma: sweet malts, honey, distant fruit. Medium body. Bittersweet taste. Initially honey malts. Some caramel. The middle is much drier leading to medium bitter grapefruity finish. Well-tasting even being old. A fresher one would definitely smell better, too.

Buena aunque no mi favorita ni mucho menos entre las tantas americanas. Malta muy presente. En españa suele llegar en botella y algo vieja; lástima.

A bottle from the basement of 101. Aroma: fresh bread, citrus fruit. Appearance: hazy amber, off-white lacing. Palate: medium-bodied and rather slick, lively carbonation, complex astringent finish. Taste: heavily bitter, pineapple, some vanilla. Not my favourite style, but a good example nonetheless.

Where: Pizzeria Paradiso, Hyattsville, MD. How: Sampler pour on tap. Pours orange-amber, slightly hazy with a one-finger head. Aroma is somewhat malty with citrus mixed in. Smells very refined and smooth - well done. Taste is malt-forward with a good dose of citrus. Very smooth flavor and well balanced. Moderate bitterness kicks in midway through. Very good west coast - really liked this one.

Can from Pivný raj. Very nice IPA from California. Sweetish taste supported by good level of hoppiness. Lovely long bitter finish. Tasty.
