COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
True to its Boontling moniker, Huge Arker is a massive force of nature that detonates on your tongue. After primary fermentation, the beer is aged in Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels until it fully matures. The deep mahogany color is evocative of the opulence to follow. Dark luscious aromas of burnished oak mingle with candy sugar, bourbon and hearth-baked bread. The luxurious flavors redolent of honey and molasses are intertwined with the richness of dark chocolate and the ardent warmth of alcohol, underpinned with hints of coffee, vanilla and dark fruits.
ABV from 11% to 13.5% in 2014.

One of two fancy beers I brought with me to Fiji. A slight bourbon to the aroma. The head disappeared fairly quickly. A bit on the sweeter side but tastes nowhere near 13.5%. A bit disappointed in the flavor, which just wasnt as intense as I expected.

Has a nice oil and licorice aroma with vague chocolate hints. Great foamy head and jet black body. Flavour is big juicy black coffee with sour hints, and a sharp coffee grain on the finish. No sign at all of that big alcohol, perfect oiliness on the mouth. This is one of the best big bad imperial stouts out there.

Half pint off draft at Roundhouse Wanchai. Slightly subdued sweet coffee aromas. Deep black appearance. Rich coffee, slightly burnt toast and chocolate flavours. Pretty damn amazing.

Bottle from cellar. Poured into tulip glass. Thick tan head thins to one finger after a few minutes. Than hangs thin fot a few more. Some significant lacing. Beer is nearly black in color. Aroma is less than expected but malty and dark chocolate. Beer is slightly sweet and medium bitter. Notes of some chocolate and burnt toast. Some bitter hops intertwinned too. Lots of alcohol heat at 13%. Some oak and char down deep. Smooth background smothered in sharpness from high alcohol. Over all good but a little sharp. Prefer my barrel stouts a bit smoother. Woul dc prefer the regular barrel stout from Anderson Valley.

Pours dark brown, nearly black. Aroma is roasted malt, booze and bourbon. Taste is overwhelming bourbon, oak barrel, with some coffee and caramel notes. Thick mouth feel. Not bad but a little too much bourbon for me.
