Poleeko Pale Ale is an exceptionally flavorful and well-balanced beer. With a bright, citrus hop profile and mild malt flavors reminiscent of English biscuits, the aromas of pink grapefruit and lemon zest compliment the brisk, balanced finish to create a truly refined American Pale Ale.

MALTS: Pale Two-Row, Crystal (40L)
HOPS: Columbus, Nugget, Cascade

Note: Formerly Poleeko Gold Pale Ale.

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2007 Botled, consumed on 10/18/07. Pours a clear, pale gold. Head is white and made up of fine white bubbles. Fades rapidly to a ring around the edges and a thin skin on the center. Sweet citrus hops in the nose with a hint of malt and resin underneath. Thin but smooth, it slides into the mouth easily. Maltier than I expected, almost like a red or amber ale, with sweet honey notes. Astringent with mild bitterness as it goes down, the aftertaste lives on in a tingly patch in the center of the tongue. Very mild grapefruit hop note lingers as well. After beer warms, I would be fooled if someone handed me a glass of this and said it was Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I might not buy another bottle, but its a fine drinking beer.

Bottle. Cloudy dark yellow with an overwhelming head. The head dissipated slowly leaving brussels lace stranded on the glass. The aroma was sweet yet sour, both floral and fruity. The taste was soft and refreshing but nothing memorable or worth trying again. The carbonation hits you first followed by little else.

Hazy light golden color with a small, but long lasting, white head. Mild aroma of lemony citrus hops and some sweet malt. Flavor is also of lemony hops. Finish is pretty dry and bitter.

Had on 7/30/2001. Aroma is a fresh hop scent that seems to have come from dry hopping. Color is a medium gold with very good carbonation and head. Taste is mild with a heavy metallic taste. Starting with a smooth medium body it goes down easy. There isnt much malt flavor in it and as the finish comes on with a good bitterness the hop flavor turns to a strong metallic taste. I can drink it but the only things about it that are like a Pale Ale are the aroma and the bitterness.

Pours a pale yellow copper color with a nice frothy white head. Fruity, slightly caramelly nose with a hint of malt. Nise rounded finish on the bready malty side. Good session brew.

Nice clearish honey gold pour to it, with a medium white head. Smell is of fruity hops, with a sweet piney touch to it as well. Smell turns somewhat towards honey soaked graininess as it warms. Taste included a nice amount of sweetness initially with a perfectly carbonated good crisp bit to it. Refreshing, and has a good sweet backing with a perfect amount of hops in the finish for a pale, I think. Definitely better than average, but not the most robust flavor. Still, quite better than average for the style, and one I wish were available locally.

Pours a lightly hazy amber with a frothy ivory head. Grapefruit, flowers and a light pine are backed by a nice malt aroma. Medium-bodied and slick with a nice bitter end. Caramel malt up front with citric (grapefruit), floral and faint piny hops taking over until the bitter end. This is a very tasty and well balanced APA. Thanks for sharing this one Don!
