I recon the aroma is better than the first impression, as well as the taste (excellent hop impact)

Hazy golden color. Very nice hoppy aroma, a bit fruity. Quite dry mouthfeel, hoppy, quite strong aftertaste, but not enough malty nor aromatic.
Pale golden/orange, great white head. Aroma from citrus, grapes, some pear and peach. Hoppy and with floral notes. Fruity flavor, grapes and pears, hoppy and floral. Somewhat fruity finish along with the bitterness. harrisoni (18578) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - AUG 22, 2008
Bottle from GBBF 08. Deep gold, lasting off white head. Attractive light grapefruit hop aroma. Very faint cheddar cheese. Drinkable in the mouth, a little hard on the swallow. Decent malts. Some toffee, bit of butter. Finish has some floral PNW hops, but not overly bitter. Maybe a little too buttery. Hops are nice. Yep, fine.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are a little on the malty side, but still has decent hops, flowers and pine. TBone (17530) - Pori, FINLAND - APR 27, 2011

Slightly hazy deep honey golden color, good cloudy white head, lace. Light citrusy-bready hoppy nose with odd yeastyness. Light to medium bodied, quite watery palate. Weak pale malty flavor with citrusy late hoppyness. Simple and as such, boring, APA lacking the depth of eg. SNPA. Probably when fresh from tap, ok beer with spicey food.
Tap. Slightly hazy amber with medium off-white head. Flavour is malt, caramel, fruit, hops, little citrus and a little bitter. yngwie (17053) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUL 10, 2010
Can, at Haandverkerstuene. A hazy, orange beer with a minimal sized creamy, off-white head. Citrusy, piney nose where the malty sweetness are present but in the back. The flavor has citrus peel, pineapple, some notes of peaches, and a fine malty sweetness. Good bitterness too. Medium body, smooth. The finish is fruity and bitter. The can is really ugly, but the beer is quite nice. A bit sweet maybe, and the hop profile isn’t my preferred one, but it drinks very easy. 100312 brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 28, 2010
A: The pour is a slightly hazed orange color with a thin white head on top which leaves some nice sticky lacing.
S: There is a fair bit of sweetness to the nose of this beer. The hops are sweet and fruity (primarily oranges), but a bit grassy at the same time. There is quite a bit of caramel malt as well.
T: The flavor follows along much of the same line as the nose. The beer is quite sweet and malty, especially for an American pale ale. The finish has a touch of lemon, orange and bitter hops, but not much.
M: The body is medium with moderate carbonation.
D: I was expecting more from this beer to say the least. Anderson Valley usually does some nice beers, especially Hop Ottin and the oatmeal stout. This one is a beer not quite on the same level.
