bottle, pours a hazy yellow gold, with small white head. Aroma is clover honey, and a soft butterscotch. Flavor is balanced, with a soft hopped finish. Medium bodied and very drinkable. Notes of honey throughout balanced by a soft bitterness. Overall a solid effort, although unremarkable. hennes (934) - Fountain, Michigan, USA - JUN 22, 2002
These Anderson Valley brews have become very popular at our local in Clarkston, Mich. They’re mostly harmless, fairly decent brews and this one fits that bill - a plain speaking APA, big on hops and relatively naked everywhere else. MrWalker (926) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 2, 2005

Blonde, weak head. Hoppy classic aroma. Dry hoppiness with an offtaste of something you might find behind your back teeth the day after a meaty dinner... Thin body.
This is the first Anderson Valley to disappoint me. Golden beer, with a white head. Clean hop aroma, not much to it. Taste is pretty straightforward: some floral/herbal hops mixed with mild sour notes. Dry, hoppy finish. Not all that great. Zach Diesel (906) - Sisters, Oregon, USA - JAN 22, 2003
an apa that ends up too dry and very average if not below

Nice fresh aromatic nose. Poured with a big head (though could have been my gumby pour). Quite a dry bitter ale which is pleasant to drink. hansvf (898) - - MAY 14, 2015
UPDATED: APR 8, 2016 Van de appie. Mooi dik schuim, goude kleur. Ruikt heerlijk fruitig, citrus. Bittere smaak, met een zoetje. Best lekker in het begin, maar wordt minder P-tor44 (886) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - MAR 27, 2003
pours a gold radiant color with a big head leaving lots of lace. dry aroma, hints of hay, hops summertime but all in all its too mellow. strongly tingling feel, light and whispy. clean finish, very light in flavor. bready but not like a good Parisian Baguette, more like American sliced white bread Bosskie (885) - NETHERLANDS - JUL 26, 2015
Gilden colour, slightly opaque, weak head.
Smell is resin, orange peels and leather. Hint of wood and honey. Taste is bitter watery with a hint of heavy sweetness. Finish is clear and dry. Nice fizz. b33r (875) - Ohio, USA - JUL 26, 2007
Cloudy orange color with small white head. Aroma is weak, hoppy and slightly malty. Flavor was also hoppy and sweet. Very weak overall
