COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This copper colored ale is a silky, creamy dream. Its malty, very mildly hopped, and lightly sweet, with a delicate hint of spice for that oh-so-drinkable, extra velvety flavor. A cool beer for the heat, whatever your latitude!

Draught, Half Time. Clear auburn. Kinda bold sweet, earthy and phenolic nose. Not at all the clear refreshing beer I was expecting. Moreso a malty, bready, chocolatey and cadyish hard to describe flavour with off-notes reminiscent of cat litter, cheap perfume and yogurt. Vast array of flavours globally, but not tight, not well displayed. Mostly thin body, sweetish, butterscotchy and fatiguing ultimately.

I was expecting something sweet and spicy, what I got was pretty bad though. Tasted like damp wood smells. Musty, old, sickly sweet. My first disapointment from Anderson. It did smell good though.

12oz. Bottle: Odd sweet aroma. Smells like candy corn. Also hints of pine hops, butterscotch, and caramel malts. Poured amber in color with a medium-sized tan head that lasted throughout. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Medium sweet flavor. Tastes of buttermilk biscuit, butterscotch, and corn. Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Strange creamy finish. Overall, not a fan.

Experienced from a 12oz bottle in a pub glass. The beer poured the expected color of just slightly darker than a pale ale, with a white head. Given the quality of Anderson Valleys Winter Solstice, I was interested in trying this beer. The nose led me to realize what a sham it truly was. The nose was an off-putting combination of nothing and the slightest bit of staled malt. The palate tasted of canned corn, rice, and fizz. Ghastly.

2008 Bottle - Pours reddish orange with an orange head, smells kinda like freshly caught fish, creamy palate, seems to coat your mouth with milk, malted and slightly bitter, this is not what I think about for the summer (or any other time of year for that matter)...

Pours dark amber in color with no head forming on the pour. Smell is slightly spicy and very fainlty hopped. Not much going on in the taste. Some fruity flavors, very weak hops. This is a pretty weak flavored beer. Very muted and watered down. Not a whole lot going on here. I’ll wait for the Winter Solstice to come out.

Bottle Citric sour aroma. Dark amber color with moderate lacing off white head. Fairly sour not much else going on, seems to be infected. Hold to rerate.

Copper/amber with a quickly fading beige bubbly head. Aroma of caramel, sweet malt and brown sugar. Taste of cola and cream, in fact it reminds me of cream soda. Overcarbonated with a nasty diet cola aftertaste. Not very good.

bottle poured a medium amber with a fizzy off white cola like head. aroma has light malt, grain, and sweetness. mouth feel is light with fizzy carbonation. flavor is very mild, lightly malted with sweetness and light hop touches. really boring and leaves me lacking anything nice to say.

12oz can. Light color with very little aroma. The flavor contains light citrus notes and not much else. Pretty disappointing.
