Complexity. Aged for three months in Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels, this luxurious stout has a deep ebony hue and a beautiful mahogany head. The woody, vanilla-like notes imparted by the barrels mingle with aromas of fresh baked bread, toffee, and espresso and envelop the rich chocolate and roasted barley flavors with a fine bourbon character. Our exclusive partnership with Wild Turkey gives Anderson Valley a world class, consistent source of barrelage, allowing our brewers to explore new frontiers in barrel-aged craft beer.

The Wild Turkey barrels give this a very different character than other barrel aged stouts. Great deep roasted malls and coffee but I got less sweetness. The Wild Turkey is definitely there. Great beer.

Acquired on a wing and a prayer, no experience with Anderson Valley. The bomber delivers a dark reddish-brown body and a slender, light brown top. I take a full smell. Caramel, grain, malt. On to a drink. Hmm, not what I anticipated. Lightly stout-like, vanilla, toffee and some astringency. A decent bitterness concluding. But far from a high level stout.

Pint, alehouse hawaii. Not bad. I didn't get any whisky taste but very serviceable stout. Not a classic as not much depth but worth a couple of pints.

Draft at Haberdish. Dark brown color small head. Boozy whiskey aroma. Taste is mostly booze. Pretty boozy stuff.

Czarne, nieprzejrzyste. Piana beżowa, drobna. W zapachu jakieś brzoskwinie, wiśnie, strasznie nie-stoutowo, raczej brak beczki. W smaku też bardzo pusto, trochę kwasku, trochę brzoskwini, trochę paloności, trochę kawy, znowu brak beczki. Goryczka niska, wysycenie niskie, posmak troszkę cytrusowy.

( bottle) Aroma: plums, weak note of coconut. Appearance: black color, small head. Taste: semi-sweet, flavour of plums, vanilla and generic roasted malt. Palate: medium body, low carbonation. Overall: Thin one, seems somehow empty.

Draft. Darkest brown pour with a small tan head. Aroma is wet campfire, milk chocolate, bourbon. Flavor is a little tart even, nice and chocolatey, little sweet, restrained bourbon notes. Malt balls on the finish. Medium full body, low carbonation, slick. Pretty good.

ibrubeer (426) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - OCT 6, 2017
UPDATED: NOV 5, 2017 Draft at Yardhouse DEN. Sweet aroma, a little vanilla. Opaque black color, thin beige head, little lacing. Flavor detects a little bourbon, vanilla from the oak, a little sweet. Smooth mouthfeel. Pretty nice!

Estebanik (1362) - Lublin, POLAND - SEP 18, 2017
Piana zbita, opadając do cienkiej warstwy, lekko zdobi szkło. Świetny aromat, czekoladowe pralinki, sporo waniliowych nutek bourbonu.
