Rich ruby ale with a fruity aroma.
This ale is named after a deep red dragon fly found in local rivers and wetlands. The beer, the newest to the Andwell’s range, uses malted rye to create its characteristic ruby glow. The flavours and aromas derive from a combination of English hops.

BeardedAvenger (799) - Addlestone, Surrey, ENGLAND - JAN 12, 2017
Cask at Swan, Farnborough. Light floral aroma. Light chestnut. A very healthy off-white head. Sweet with some umami hints. Berries and maltyness. In fact gets progressively sweeter but not too much so. Light to medium bodied. Quite soft. Long finish, slightly astringent. Hasn’t had this for a while. Had written it off as a standard bland END but glad I was incorrect. Really nice pint.

Cask handpump at the Castle Tap - Reading. Pours clear reddish-brown with a frothy light tan head. Pleasant aroma with notes of toasted brown bread, light earth, ripening berries. Light sweet flavor with more toasted bready malts, light earthy bitterness, hints of dry toffee and cocoa. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Nicely balanced on the finish, with yet more brown bread, earth, some leaves, hints of cocoa. Solid ESB.

Strong toffee caramel aroma. Smells sweet and delicious. Hoppy taste with a toffee undertone. Smooth. Quite drinkable, but then I like toffee. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask hand pump @ Rowbarge, Woolhampton, Berks. Dark ruby colour, fruity style, pleasant and not too heavy for a lunchtime drink with food.

evergreen0199 (3369) - Northwood, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 17, 2012
Cask at Wetherspoons, Ruislip Manor (New brew beer festival). A deep brown ruby coloured pour with virtually no head on top. Sweet, fruity aroma. Tastes sweet, malty, fruity with some caramel in there too. Rather thin and uninspiring.
