COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lester Young, 1909-1959 "Prez" was nicknamed by Billie Holiday because he was "President of the Saxophone". Lester’s light and airy tenor saxophone tone, his lyrical lines, combined with behind the beat phrasing and unerring ability to swing, led Prez to become the father of the "Cool" school of Jazz.

22oz bottle (obviously forgotten on one of my shelves). Definitely showed its age, but not sure if it was good to start with.

Bottle courtesy bu11zeye. Pours a clear dark reddish color that edges on brown. Bubbly white ring of head. Aroma is dark malts that smell quite roasted. Some easy chocolate notes as well. Flavor is roasted as well, cocoa notes and sweetness. Finishes strong and malty.

DarkElf (3066) - La Jolla, California, USA - JAN 21, 2011
30-Jan-10 (22-oz bottle: Purchased 30-Dec-09 for $3.49 at Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido, CA) Doughy, dark bread, nuts, medium-roasted malt, some cola, a hint of chocolate, earth, vague mint, but also surprisingly fruity with red apple and a suggestion of plum and dates. Aromas of light roast, dough and cheese, so the nose is less pleasant than the flavor. Medium in body, yet surprisingly chewy well into the finish. Carbonation is moderate, but on the fizzy side. Dark ruddy-brown in color with a short-lived quarter-inch, light-tan head that fades quickly to a thin ring. Nice flavor in general, but not inspiring, so not a repeat purchase.

3.4
marcus (10668) - Sacramento, California, USA - AUG 11, 2010
Pours dark brown with a decent tan head and a chocolate aroma. There is a slightly watery chocolate flavor with some carbonation and a dry smoky finish.
